Almost every MMO out there has their spin on Player vs Player combat. Some have simply arena type matches, while others have more elaborate castle sieges, or simply open grounds where you can take on anyone. So what do you look for when you take on your fellow players? Do you battle for rewards? fame? to test new skill builds? Also what kinds of PvP systems do you like? What things about PvP do you hate? Me, I actually don't PvP much XD but when I do, its mostly for the rewards, and the pure fun of duking it out with other players. I like arena matches since I don't have a lot of free time, and I can jump in whenever I feel like it. What I hate the most is open PvP. Or more specifically systems where random people can just go and PK you. Anyway, how about you guys and gals?

I like castle sieges. also I like the idea of killing a target to win it, be it a npc or a person. Just to add more need for strategy.

So do I.. I like castle sieges.. I do not fight to be famous or what. I've fought many wars in my time. Some I've fought for land, some for power, some for glory. I suppose fighting for love makes more sense than all the rest.

The excitement it brings especially when you are hanging by the thread already.

the game im currently playing, Atlantica, has skill based PvP. and not skill as abilities, but user skill. its turn-based and both sides control up to 9 characters so its considerably challenging. it takes a bit of time to learn all the tricks tho. also, since you have several mercenaries to choose from to use for your 9 person team, theres a lot of variety and ways to play.

the division system they have tho is a love/hate for me. you get matched depending on how well you do and not how high your level is. so  that means you might face off lvl 100+ people even if you're just level 10 XD while you cant win in those situations, level gaps of 10~20 are winnable if your formation and tactics are good.

i like those massive wars that involves occupying castles, colonies or cities and then being able to capture one of them. and when it's your turn to defend, you have to fortify your defenses against the invaders...and of course there's politics, it makes the server drama more colorful, without it, server wars will be boring

like the war of emperium in RO and castle sieges in Lineage 2? yeah those are awesome.

yeah like those wars and also on RF online's Chip wars and Granado Espada colony wars

and i'm looking forward on Atlantica's Troy feature...hope they put up the war to the next level
