Illegal addons?

Hello everyone.

Recently i had doubt about All "WoW" Addons being legal.

Most of all I had doubt in NPCscan being legal, Could you please inform me if it is legal or illegal? Since I really wanna use this, but i dont wanna risk getting banned from WoW..

Thanks!

If it was illigal, Blizz would've teared the addon down from the site. 'Nuff said.

No risk in getting banned. It's only if a GM contacts you that something's wrong. And you will be warned by a GM before you get banned when it's only because of an addon. Not that you will get banned for it. A warning is all I have in mind if Blizz finds it against their ToA.

AddOns are using functions that are offered by blizz.

So normally AddOns cant do forbidden things.

When blizz dont want us to do certain things they change their functions but I've never

heared that blizz forbid an AddOn.

Forbidden are bots and automated play.

NPCScan does NOT auto target the mob.  It puts up a UI element that you can click on to target the mob.  It essentially does the job of having a /tar mobname macro.

As Vampyrate said, it does not "auto" target anything for you... All you get is a button that you can click to target and all that button really is what Vampyrate stated, its linked to a macro that targets.

_npcscan is completely legal.. all it does is does a scan (in some cycle) of possible silver-dragon mobs in the zone and if found, it pops up the button.
