Programmers: I need this audio add on:

I searched today for a mod that would notify me with an audio tone when one of my "reactive" abilities occurs. I found a few older ones, but nothing that did what I'm looking for. While there are visual notifications for my reactive abilities like "Mongoose Strike" and "Counterattack", frequently in BG's and arena, I overlook the scrolling text (or my reaction time is delayed a little since my eyes are busy targeting, finding a bound key for an ability, etc.).

I'd like a mod that allows the user to chose some of their class-specific abilities (I'll give hunter examples in a minute) as well as some of the general things all toons might share (health, combo points and/or mana) and allow us to set up our own audio warnings.

In my case, "Mongoose Strike" becomes active after I dodge. And "counterattack" becomes active after I parry. If there was a sound the second they became available, my PvP would improve.

I envision a mod that involved a bunch of audio files that the User could then pair with notification on selected reactive abilities. You should be able to chose which things you want to be notified about. For instance, my current talent build doesn't include Counterattack, so I do not want to hear that notification.

I'd also like to be able to set up an audio tone for when I am at 20% mana or 20% health. As well as when my pet is at 50% and 20% health.

While the developer could "hardwire" these sound effects in, if it's possible to allow the user to chose which audio files to associate with which effects, it would be more enjoyable.

And if it's possible to leave "slots" in the programming where the user could chose their own sound effects (as well as use the ones provided) it would be even more fun. When my cat is at 50% health, I could hunt down a "meow" sound, and when he's at 20% health I can look for the MGM Lion "roar" so I know he's about to bite it if I don't heal him.

Of course, since I don't program, it may be that including exterior sound files isn't feasible. In that case, I'dl suggest picking a wealth of audio files that the user can chose from that suits their idea of the "right" sound, or one that they will hear above the din of PvE or PvP combat. Even if it was just a range of bells, gongs, whistles and alarms, you could chose the sound you felt was "right" for the level of emergency.

And since not every class wants to know when they are at 20% or 50% health, it might actuall be nice if people could either set a % themselves. Or maybe just use a 10 point scale, from 10% through 90%, depending on how "Squishy" they feel, and when they wish to be notified.

Is this feasible? And can I be one of the Beta testers? :)

OK, and you are willing to pay how much for this custom programming?

Well, as the unemployed guy who's never paid for an add-on before, I'd say the same price as for the rest of my add-ons.

I'm giving you a good idea a lot of people (I believe) would enjoy and use.

Hopefully your business model isn't predicated upon my paycheck, lol!

Your other addons were custom written for you?

If you're unemployed, you could probably take a little time, learn LUA, go over mods like ScrollingCombatText, see how they detect events like that, and add an audio trigger.

You can be the hero upon whom you call! The world is watching you, brave sir!
