lookin for some help here..

as a hunter i find it very annoying when i have to keep track of multiple targets (my assigned trap...a MD on the off tank...my DPS target...and so on). i dont like to tab target for fear of breaking a CC and hunting around trying to click a mob is horribly inefficient.

yes i understand there is no possible way to target a mob by their raid icon.

that being said here is my idea for a workaround of sorts. a mod that would change a macro or just the "/target x" part of the macro based on my mouse click before combat begins. i realize on mobs with the same name this would be useless but for fights with mobs that have unique names (IE Moroes fight in Kara) this would be a godsend.

what im thinking of is a addon that would:
1) give me a set of buttons (a movable bar or something that would tie in with Trinity bars maybe.) that would allow me to assign 1 mob to each button manually.
2) by clicking on a button my target would switch to that mob.

im sure someone with the knowhow could refine this idea.

P.S. i did try bananbar but it doesnt seem to be working.

you can use a /focus and it will add another player frame with xperl

/bump this guys post something to add some sorta targetting mobs would be nice the focus suits me well since i only have a sheep target as a mage then i usually target the MT or OT and attack what they are attacking using the target of target option :]

how about something like Proximity in arenas if any1 knows what that is..

and then in instances and so on, there would be skull, cross, square , whatever and you could press on them as in Proximity in arena, or bind a button to it

yeah Chrisser000 has a good point.

Proximo is a window that when you hover or someone in your arena group hovers a hostile it adds it to the list giving you a clickable target list in a nice little panel

if some way say the raid maker can mark the target and add them to a panel then other ppl with the panel can see the mobs listed in it made by the person marking/adding to the list or something of the sort is surely possible

actually im not too worried about the rest of the group/raid having a link with my targets but im gonna try this Proximo. hopefully itll work on mobs and we have our answer.

thats a big negative.
unless im not using it right it: a) doesnt work out side arena and b) only seems to target other players not mobs.

but you guys probable already knew that....lol at myself

but yes Chrsser000, thats the general idea of what im lookin for. although id have to say the frame is a bit on the large side...something small and unobtrusive would be nice.

Use the player targets function of ORA (a raid back bone). You can also use the focus frame to essentially have 2 targets (your primary target and a focus target).
