God Mode Addon

God Mode AddOn
(currently in Development and taking suggestions for implementation)

Displays the best possible gear you could wear for your class and spec at:

A) Current Level, from items in your inventory
B) Current BG Bracket, from items in your inventory
C) Current Level, from items in the WoW Database
D) Current BG Bracket, from items in the WoW Database
E) Level Cap, from items in the WoW Database


- The preference in gained abilities/stats can be modified in the configuration (ie. Spell Critical Strike Rating over Dodge Rating, etc.) with an easy move up/move down interface.

- The AddOn would display the drop location and loot percentage for each listing.

- The AddOn would display the calculated stats from the new gear when applied to your character, as well as a list of other added effects or abilities.

- The AddOn would display all of the items worn on your character.

- The AddOn would allow you to post a "Watch" for needed items in the GodMode Listing, alerting you when an item can be looted and/or purchased from vendors, auction house, or even trade channel.

- The generated lists would be customizable, allowing items to be manually entered from the database with a "browse" interface.

Basically, what I would like is some suggestions as to what core addons I should use in building this addon. I was already thinking about auctioneer for it's auction scanning abilities, and Quest Helper for its objective locating abilities, as well as Cartographer. Anyways, any suggestions would be extremely helpful.

i think that it would be more useful for everyone if they could choose what stats they wanted to build when it "Displays the best possible gear you could wear for your class and spec at:"
like let them be able to choose like stamina, intellect, armor, or a mix of two or even three
and then of course you have to show what the total cost is, or what quests to do to get that gear
i really think this would be a great addon
i would use it in a heartbeat
especially people that like to twink out their chars like me

The only thing i would like to contribute to this is the fact that .... f your making a mod related around gearing your toon out and what not, i would leave seperate mods out such as auctioneer, quest helper and cartographer...

A replacement for Auctioneer is "wowecon" which is downloaded at "wowecon.com"... unlike auctioneer you dont have to do manual auction scans to get prices, just remember to run the wowecon updater once a week, or everyday like i do, and u'll always have up to date prices, and tons of other usefl info.. (vendor sell prices, disenchant probabliities)

if people want those mods they should download them on their own... leave yours seperate... it'll just bloat your mod and draw away the hardcore resource monkies...

I think your mod will be quite complicated enough the way it is with the gear checking... you'd have to link it up to some item database off armory, or whatever, and i would not want the task at hand so i give u props and hope u finish...

just dont bloat it with unnecessary mods that have no relation to the overal purpose of the mod....

The old Theorycraft, found here on Curse, but no longer working, would be a great place to start. It did much of what you want in "Godmode" except that it didn't have a loot tracking system. If you could get it working again, maybe with some new features, and changes to account for the new talents and the way Blizz changed gear stats....

And then use the WoWEuip functions too .
Theres a hell of a good start in those 2 addons .

Im not sure how modding works, but WhoDrop can show you were most items drop, and RatingBuster and Equipment Compare whould show you side by side comparisons and stat breakdowns.
WhoDrop uses alot of memory though.
