Keeping Configurations for Guild Add ons package

I've put together a nice set of add ons for my guild, and would like to zip it up in one package with all my configurations set already. In the ZIP folder, I've included the interface folder with all the add ons, and the WTF folder with all the saved variables, so all they really need to do is drop both folders into thier WoW folder and make minor changes to the folders inside the WTF folder to include thier server and character name. This works pretty well, and about 90% of the settings copy over.

My main question however, is it possible to have all settings carry over, and also to keep postions of certain windows but without my information? X-perl is one that will not carry over. It gives you the option to load profiles, yet when you load my original one for the main set up, it don't exactly load my normal configurations, and seems to load random configurations actually. Also, with the 'Notes you Need' add on, it saves everything, including my notes. Is there a way to save the configurations, but not my personal notes?

For the Notes you need, no you can't get it split up like that. However, you could go into the .lua file for it and edit out your notes before packing it up into the zip file.

Awsome, that worked for the notes, now for X-perl settings. Thank you very much.

Xperl settings I do believe supports a profile. What you could do is backup your lua files in the WTF folder for xperl. Copy them to a safe place. YOu could then delete that file. Login to the game, config xperl the way you want for your guild and save the profile. This should make it that your profile is the only one saved in the config files. Pack it up and ship it out. Then, drop your old config files back for Xperl and you're set.

The thing is, when they select the profile, they all get random xperl settings. Whats strange is that it gives you 2 profile type options. You can see what I mean but going to the xperl page. http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/3416/

On the left of that options screen shot it gives "Frame Layout", on the right side, "Copy Settings From....". Im not sure what the difference is, but ive tried to do it myself and for each time i do, i seem to get a random frame setting. Not sure if there like some special order to do it in. Not sure why theres not just one option for this, but its really screwing my head up.

Ill try to delete it and start from scratch though. I like that idea, not only for xperl, but the whole package. Thanks
