activating and using add ons

I recently downloaded a couple of add ons...and for some reason they are not working. Maybe I downloaded them to the wrong place on my computer or is there an activation sequence that I need to do to get them to work. THANKS for any help.

All mods need to be extracted to \wow directory\interface\addons If your addons folder does not exist, you need to make it first.
