Updates

Because Blizzard did an update this week most of my addons are showing up out of date and are not working properly. Of course I did expect that to happen, so I have been watching for the addon updates. A couple have been updated and I have gone in to up date what I have. So my problem? Even with the update done for the ones available when I sign in and check my addons before going in game, they are still saying they are out of date. Hello!?!?! I have gone in and removed ALL my addons and started with the proverbial "clean slate" and worked on installing the updated version only and one by one checking them between installation before installing another. I STILL get told it is out of date. So, if I am installing the latest updated version, that says it was updated AFTER Blizzards update this week... what is going on? I have only been playing WoW since Feb. this year and only started using addons a few weeks ago, so this is my first experience with patches, updates and addons all in one. Can someone tell if this is normal? Maybe suggest what I am doing incorrectly if I am doing something wrong? Thanks ahead of time for the information!

What I do all the time is 'load out of date addons'. Yes, many will be out of date, and yes, some will be bugged, but most addons will keep on functioning properly.

This doesn't mean however that you should never update. The loading of the out of date addons is a temporary measure, when updated versions are available you should ofcoars down them asap.
