addons work for any operating system just browse curse download an extract to the proper path
usually for windows
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns
not sure if Ubuntu has a program to unzip files if not you can use the command line or download http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm <-- be sure to get the linux version :]
