I must admit I love my mods... and gotta love Curse (and Ace) for providing these portals/communities so the developers can put them out there.

- Include here a pat on the back for all Mod developers out there.. Thanks! -

But the one thing I'd never messed with was the Unit Frames, that was until yesterday.

So I play a Holy Paladin, Shadow Priest, Mage and low level Rogue... I love and worship Healbot, have recently found Quartz and have forever used Titan... but looking around I thought there was something I was missing.

I downloaded Pitbull (comes highly recommended) I played around with it for a few hours but just couldn't get the look I was after... I guess its almost too customizable I'd stop playing the game and start tweaking the UI constantly. It had a great feature to import layouts, but I just couldn't seem to get the copy/paste code thing to work for me.

I then tried out X-Perl.. Its not as customizable but it has a solid look and an nice GUI for setting up the bars... the only problem is I'd like to move the in combat icon (crossed swords) to a more visible location. Does any know if thats possible?

I've still got X-Perl set up but have all the Raid functions currently turned off... Can anyone point me in a direction of guide to setting up X-Perl (I did see there was a tutorial included.. which I probably should have tired before posting this... but alas I'm trapped a work so gotta do something till I get home to mess with it).

Beyond the above any other recommend Unit Frame enhancements?
Is there a good place to go to see peoples UI set ups?

ag unitframes... i know alot of ppl will say pitbull so owns ag_uf but as you stated.. pitbull is just too customizable... and i haven't been able to import exported layouts either. so i am gonna stick to the ag_uf... i miss few things that pitbull has (druid mana bar in other forms, energy ticker, mana ticker etc...) but its more comprehendable.. at least to me

Keep the Xperl stuff off and use another raid mod like X-raid, S-raid, ORA2 or CTRA. I use X-perl strictly for their unit frames for player and party and that's it. ORA2 is a solid backbone replacement for CTRA. For the frames, I recommend Grid. Grid can be daunting at first but a tiny bit of config work will get it running very smoothly.

For raid overview I would strongly advise Grid. In the beginning it might be hard to get used to, but once configged it nicely, there's nothing else you'll ever want (unless ofcoars you also want to show all the useless info ;-) ).
Grid only shows you what you need to see, nothing more, nothing less.

oRa2 would be nice to have next to Grid, not for the raid overview, but more for the different monitors this addon gives. Rezz monitor so you don't start rezzing double, CD monitor to see SS, DI and BR cd's.

Thanks. Grid looks cool. I'll see if I can get it into my UI after the patch. I haven't heard of ORa2 (will go and investigate now. But have been using CT Raid Assist forever (well since I started to play).

I'm the primary healer and use Healbot to assist in healing, it seems alot of these addon duplicate the effort Healbot makes. I did read about people using grid with clique to replicate what heal bot achieves. Anyone had much success with this?

i haven't used grid+clique, but from what i've read, it gives you just about the exact same features and flexibility as healbot. so you wouldn't need both. i guess just figure out which works better for you and go with it :)

I'm partial to Healbot... I love seeing when other have heals incoming (and grid might do this) but since the guilds healers tend to use Healbot over anything else it might be best to stick with it.

One thing that's cool about Healbot is it's one of the only addons I use that's updated regularly on this website by the developer himself. He's working on making it so Healbot will be able to communicate with other healing mods (such as Grid) to show estimated incoming heals from people who aren't using Healbot specifically. Should make this already great addon even better (at least for BGs and raids, where multiple healers are more prevalent than in 5-mans)!

Cool!!!
I look forward to that. Getting Incoming Heal info from those not on the Healbot system would save those cringe creating 11K critical overheals.

Have you tried to do any 5 mans with two healers. I've been doing alot of them lately trying to key and equip up and coming healers but its challenging for as a healer to help healers. A couple of the instance work well but for most the 2 remaining DPS have trouble carrying the raid; thats part of the reason I'm trying to level up some DPS... and my wife who's a tank has great difficult helping other tanks so she's also rolled a new DPS class.

my priest is 97% through lvl 60...3 runs through ramparts, and not ONE drop for her to roll need on yet! Ahh well, hopefully BF will treat her better.
