Quick chat mad question

In a lot (nearly all) of the UI compilations on this site, there is the same chat-altering mod that allows the user to turn the background into a gradient black and change font and colors. Not only does it look awesome, but it would really help me in sifting through my chat windows now.

I've tried Prat, ChadMOD, and just recently got PhanxChat but none of them are exactly what I want (unless I missed some sort of options thing somewhere...).

No, I don't want to just "get the UI with the chat mod you want", I like everything the way I have it now, except for chat.

If anyone could point me in the direction to what this mod is called that I've described, I'd greatly appreciate it!

But most likely what you saw was a combination of a few addons:

Prat - Enables customizing of chat, color coding, and such

Skinner - Enables gradient black skin on all dialogs and on the chat box too.

ClearFont - Replaces the ingame font with a new one.

SimpleCombatLog - rewrites the combat log to be easier to read

First you'll have to move your spell buttons out of the way, try using Bartender for that (command would then be, /bartender lock )

Second you make you 3 chat boxes, placed like that beside each other, looks like: 1 General Chat and Trade, 2 Raid and Party, 3 Combat

Now you can set up Skinner to have whats called a viewport in the bottom, can't remember the skinner commands for that so try look at this yourself.

The small info bar at the very bottom is Fubar and there you can add info from many mods

Awesome! I just loaded up Skinner and it did exactly what I wanted!! ...well, almost. I really like the gradient effect, but not in the chat box, because I can't really read the text at the top since it fades up to white up there. Is there anyway I can leave the gradient effects everywhere EXCEPT the chatbox? Thanks so much for all your help!

dunno, you can remove the skinning on chat and use a 100% black background, or disable the gradient on the chat
