Forums for Projects

Want them? Give us details. The way we built the site these can be added in a day. It would be the exact same system used on the forums you see here, so no categories.

Our biggest concern on implementing them for project is how they would be integrated into the site, and if we should make them an optional component (the author activates them), or have them by default.

They could easily replace the comments as well. Maybe we should make it so the author chooses to have comments or forums?

Well it would be nice to have the threading of comments so you can see which answer belongs to which question, but a whole forum might be a bit overkill for the smaller addons and compilations.

I have to agree, making comments "threaded" would be nice, and maybe even allowing the author to sticky a thread would be cool. Anything more then that is pretty much overkill in my opinion.

A rapport button on forum posts, for spam, gold sellers and the like

Project forums are nice. Especially for fan updates after the author disappears. Otherwise comments just go on and on about different ideas/complaints which clutter it enough to hide smaller comments about how the fan update fixes everything.

Also, will the account page ever show recent comments exist so I do not have to check my addons one at a time? Thanks.

Maybe giving full control to the author. They can choose to have no, they can choose to have one or the other, or they can choose to have both. I could see some situations where the forums/comments are useless as have their own websites/forums or their main mod home just simply isn't curse.
