  • About ZiggaDKP
  •

ZiggaDKP is a raiding guild DKP mod that is designed to be easy to use, simple, flexable, and easly customisable. ZiggaDKP's purpose is fair distribution of items with a simple bidding system, stock costs, and scalability of costs on the fly.

ZiggaDKP's current robust xml framework (soon to be cleaned up) makes the mod easy to use and quick for anyone to pick up. The frame work allows the loot master to scale the cost of the items, putting them up for bid, while all members of the raid are able to bid or pass on items, and finaly (if you choose to do so) then allows officers in a private loot council system to approve/disapprove of the current winners (Idealy used for good, like preventing someone from picking up something shiney and screwing over the raid progression, and not bad biased stuff).

The localization file allows guild's to choose what base prices they want charge for each type of item. Current item prices are based off of Blizzard's arena and honor costs for items (divided by ten so numbers don't grow so monsterous). Item types are generaly based off of slot (ring, necklace, two-hander, one-hander, ranged) and if it is part of the general raiding set (token: chest, pants, helm, shoulders, gloves) or not (non-token chest drop, etc). With pricing done on the fly by the auctioneer (master looter), stock base costs of items being easly changable in the localization file, and scalablity on the fly (changing the percent of the cost, ie 60% of cost, 100%, or 140% and more if you or I choose to add them), the mod becomes extremely flexable.

To support the mod, I have also made an external java program (code included and free to use/steal). The program is simple right now but will be fleshed out and fancier in the future. Right now, after setting up the properties file with an ftp server address and user and pass, the program will access the dkp folder under the login's root directory (dkp file should be placed in a folder named dkp), and then download that file to your savedvariables folder under your wow folder. After that the program will check to see if the savedvariables file has been modified every time period (setup in the properties file) since the initial download, when it finds the file has been updated (on a refresh or exiting the game, savedvariables may be updated/modified) it will upload it to the server. Unfortunetly, right now the only way to quit the program is by forcing termination of the program, a quit option with other options as well will be implemented at a later date.

The java program is spyware/malware free, and I provide the code as open source so you may compile it yourself. :) More external program support to come with a javascript webpage that will take the savedvariables and allow you to view them (ie view your dkp online), and I also plan on making it open source.

ZDKP is working fine, I just havn't been working on it because I have been working on a light weight bidding interface so everyone doesn't need to carry around a huge robust mod to do simple tasks like bidding. I have been calling is CDKP (client dkp) and plan on making it compatible with as many of the dkp programs on curse as I can. I'll link to it when it is up here and working with the mod.

Dkp upkeep is working perfectly. Items can be purchase and refunded and come up with the same numbers.
Skipping loot council for now since I am not auto-sending items.

Next I plan on making upkeep percentage visual on the main page, making the main page pop up on new auction, and version checking.

Version 0.8 hasn't been tested, the only real addition would be a simple version check. I can't see it breaking anything unless I typo-ed or something similar. If it does error, I recommend using version 0.7.3 as it was tested and shouldn't break at all.

Close to an actual release version. I have added a feature, dkp upkeep.
The idea is once you have saved up a lot of dkp and are obviously hording it, you dkp shrinks slightly. The amounts can be determined in the localization file which I will hopefully remember to break up into controls and languages. The default is 400:70%, 600:50%, 800:30% dkp (set cap is 1000dkp, negative has no cap), which is more then a two hander and about double any item below it. On the flip side I also made the feature tax those who would be called "loot whores" where if they go fairly negative, they also have that same penalty. I will add a notifier to the main page.
The release version will most likely have a cap of 2000 and upkeeps points to reflect that cap size.

Fixed the bugs I ran into last night during raid. V 0.5.5 should resolve bidding perfectly. Fixed another bug that caused the "end auction" to have the auction resolve twice (once instantly and once again at the timers end).

Added a message to let the user know they have hit a button at the request of guildies.

Still have a lot of debugging messages in the default chat message popping up, I plan on cleaning that in the next version. (I just want one successful test before I do)

Oddly enough there were two bugs with secondary bids, the first was they were not being recorded, the second was my logic for bidding order (primary > secondary) causing it to ignore secondary bids even if there were no primary. So now, secondary bidding is working perfectly.

I am testing it's logic out tonight in a raid setting, and if it goes well, I will complete the xml slots, clean it up, add a few features, finish the localization, and put it out as an official version.

It has taken almost 2 months to get this off the ground, but finally a working copy is up. Still some bugs to deal with but no crashes to worry about.

    Current Bugs:
-Secondary bids are not being considered in resolving bids. It looks like it only looks at primary bids, and if there are none it just claims there were no bids.
-Only one bid slot works right now. This is because I have not set up the other slots in the xml file.
-Only seven of the nine auction slots show up on the auction tab. This is a space and xml setup thing. I will fix this later. I am hoping to fit all nine auction slots on the page, but that means I need nine bid slots on the main page.... I'll figure something out.
-Auction Tab's buttons are scrunched and running off the page. I plan on adjusting this as soon as I get secondary bids working.

If you find or see any other bugs, let me know.
    Thank you for your patience.
    -Ziggedy

Sorry, I have been a little distracted with another project I have (and then fallout 3 for 2 days). However, I have finaly made a work around for the DDM, so the DDM do work again (and added cost modulating functionality on tab2). New beta version created today will show all that stuff off.

Hoping to have a release shortly, still need to work on implementing a better timer, then bidding resolution (think there was some error there before DDM and other stuff broke in 3.0), then I'll polish the clean up functions and it should be release worthy (fully useable).
