WSR will get data from the Auctioneer addon in the WoW install path and export it in Excel-friendly .tsv format in a file on your desktop. More exactly, it will get you data about your completed auctions (what you sold at the AH) and completed bids/buyouts (what you bought at the AH), for each of your characters, on all realms you play.

More info on WoW Sales Reports such as video tutorials and troubleshooting info go to the main WOW Sales Reports web site.

Requirements: WSR requires WoW installed, Auctioneer suite addon (5.5+) installed in WoW for at least a week or so. WSR is a Windows-only executable. Don't install with curse client!

When you run WSR, it will create a file called AuctioneerData.tsv on your desktop, where you will find the output data. If you have Excel installed, WSR will also automatically start it and create some reports based on your data.

    Hi,
This 'addon' does not support Mac at all. I've tried to execute it with all kinds of emulators (Wine + CrossOver). None of them work.
Now, I'm feeling like a sad panda.

  • You should try to run the program like this:
    wsr.exe <full-path-to-Beancounter.lua> <full-path-to-csv-output-desired-location>

Note that you must put in full paths, not relative ones. The reason why it doesn't work otherwise is that it uses lots of registry functionality to determine those paths (wow install path, user home path) and to automagically run excel with ole, none of which is really supported out of the box is wine et al.

Not what I was looking for, but I figured I'd give a suggestion anyway...

It seems to me that outputting the resulting file in a .csv format would alleviate most of the issues with not having Excel. This should be a simple fix, as you are already outputting in a .tsv format.

This was done with OO.o 3.1.0:
For those with OpenOffice, change the file extension to .csv and import it into OO.

Select the "Tab" checkbox and unselect the "Comma" checkbox.

Press "Ok" and that should do the trick!

Ok so I did go ahead and download and run this. I must say, WOW, huge amount of data. Amazing job for sure.

The only problem my simple mind has is digesting the data into something that I need to see. I guess this will take time, but maybe a simple guide to explain some of the data we are not seeing.

Example: What did I purchase all of my titanium ore for, and what did I resell it all for? Did I make a profit or a loss?

    Stuff like that.

    Anyway, great addon!

Why does this program launch the conime.exe process?

This thing is fantastic, Paypal donation incoming. Small issue - I'm not getting item names. I get the item codes, but no names. Do you suppose I'm doing something wrong?

I have the same problem. All my item code slots come up as N/A and I was wondering what to do about that?

  • @bradfarris - thanks for the praise! :) Drop an email to wowsalesreports@gmail.com with your input data so that I can diagnose your problem. It seems either there's something wrong with your auctioneer install or a bug I may need to fix (or both).

@Lery - data is stored on a per wow-login basis on your disk. If you gf plays the game on your computer using her account, I can't tell if you want to see her data or yours, unless you say which login name you wanna run the reports for. All login names are visible to application without it asking, just cannot guess which one you want to see.

Asking for my username? HMMMMMM... Why?

Because the data it is looking for is under your account name in the savedvariables folder. The program could ask you to find it yourself but this is easier.

    Hi,

Just want to say nice job this. I can finally track everything properly. Just wanted to ask 2 things. Are the amounts in silver or in copper? I'm trying to work out my profits based on a gold amount.

Also is there any way to see what item has been sold the most? I.e. for example, which gems sell the best etc?

    Reply Report Permalink
  • @KugaZA Yes, you can see which items sold most. But you have to have Excel (or OpenOffice installed).

    1. If you have Excel
WSR will create a report called ItemReport (second worksheet). Click the little arrow next to "Row Labels" and a drop down will come down with item names. Deselect evertything except the names of the gems your are interested in. Click somewhere else. The report should now only show the gems.

Now, for sorting them in order of profits.. If you have a newer version of Excel I think you can click again on the arrow next to "Row Labels" and select "More sorting options", and go "Descending", "by Sum of Gold Flow [g]". That should do the trick. For older versions of excel, you'll have to copy the data (data lines + 1 heading row) to another worksheet, select all columns entirely and hit Data menu -> Sort and select a descending sort by Gold Flow.

    2. Without Excel, with Open Office or similar
You will need to open up the .tsv file generated by WSR from your desktop in Open Office (or similar). Then you need to create a pivot table with "Item name" and row label, operation type as a column label and gold flow as a value label/field. This is basically the ItemReport that WSR generates automatically for Excel. Next, do as if you were working on ItemReport, but using the menus/features of OpenOffice. I'm still looking to create automatic reports with OO, until then, this is a manual step unfortunately.

If you're lost about how to create a pivot table and what that is.. wikipedia has a nice article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pivot_table

Alright thanks. I have Excel 2007, will try what you said. I also wanted to ask if you can see what has a good sell ratio? I.e. Your Auctions:Successful actions of individual items. Then have a sort order from most successful to least successful. Perhaps maybe a percentage value of successful auctions of items thrown in there somewhere?

what if i don't have excel. does this work with openoffice as well?

    Ya, I also use OpenOffice.

The application does two things: first it creates a tab-separated-file with the data it got from your WoW installation. Secondly, if you have Excel, it opens that file up and creates some reports based on the data.

If you have OpenOffice and not Excel, you can manually load the tsv file (from your desktop, where WSR puts it) in OO. The only limitation is that you'll have to create your own reports as OO, as WSR doesn't currently know how to do that in OO (looking into it as a future feature).

TLDR: Yes. The essential feature of the application works with OO, but you have to open up a file from your desktop yourself.

    Excelent little program!

I'm Having a small problem with the generated excel file. The 2 last columns (the ones with the time and day of week) becomes wrong due to my localization. The ";" is used to separate within formulas (i.e. TEXT(xxx, xxxx) should be TEXT(xxx;xxxx) and "," not "." is used between integers and parts. (i.e. "460006.335123" should be "460006,335123".

A simple search and replace in excel is not possible since there are 2 errors per cell so as soon as replace replaces one thing it states "error in formula".

I can solve it by going via the text file. But just wanted to report the problem.
