  • About Wow Log Parser
  •

Wow Log Parser is a combat log parser for the files that are recorded with the /combatlog command.

It is an external program run from outside the game. It requires Java SE 6 to operate and that can be downloaded at http://www.java.com

Features include:

  • Many different GUI windows to present damage done, healing, power gains, dispells, interrupts, etc.
  • Graphs and charts.
  • HTML export of fight data used to present combat reports.
  • XML export for use somewhere else.

The program source can be found on my own website at:

1)Is it possible to calculate the TPS?
2)Since there is a WHW report why not create a report about 'Who Damage Who' for a boss combat.

    1) To calculate threat I would have to make special rules for a lot of spells and skills that have special threat mechanics. I do not want to do that :-P
    2) Cool idea I guess.

My combat log is really big; is there a way to get rid of the old data and start fresh?

You can move your old WoWCombatLog.txt file to another place on your harddrive. Then Wow will create a new fresh log file. If you don't want to keep your old log file then you can just delete the WoWCombatLog.txt file instead.

  • Is there a way to export the data from the parser to another program, like Excel?

You can export some data as XML. I'm not sure if it's possible to import it into Excel in any easy way though.

How in the hell do I make the stats show in like party chat for example?

  • Kabaka said

This isn't an in-game add-on. You can't show stats in party chat like that inside the game. You run this on your logs outside the game. If you want something in-game, look at Recount or other real-time solutions.

Missed your comment until now. If you see this answer then can you explain what you mean. I have no idea what you mean with "make the stats show in like party chat".

I to would like to see some way to see absorbed dmg.

Can you specify what you mean by seeing absorbed damage? Right now there is the "detail" window where you can see total absorbed damage if you select the "Extended Damage Info" tab. There is the event graphs where you can see information about individual attacks, and absorbed damage should be present there as well if you hover over the "dots" with the mouse pointer.

Is there a possibility to add absorbed Dmg from shield and divine aegis to "effective heal" or something similar to compar with other healers?

I have thought about it, but it would probably be confusing to most since that is not technically a heal. I might make a separate damage reduction category or something, we'll see. I'm also not sure how easy it is to track who the absorbed damage should be credited to. It's not trivial the way the log files works now.

Well, it seems my curse project disappeared when they remade the site, so I had to remake it. All comments are therefore gone.
