First thing is first....How do you use this mod?

The best way to set it up is to use the GUI options.
Toggle show the Option Window: /wproc options
Toggle enable Proc Alerts (only shows alerts configured through the options window): /wproc show
Toggle lock the Windows (including proc alert window): /wproc lock

Explanation of GUI options:

  • Show: The proc alert window will appear when selected and alert options are also selected.
  • Lock: Locks the options window and proc alert window in place when selected.
  • Commanding Shout: Commanding Shout alerts will display if Show is also selected.
  • Battle Shout: Battle Shout alerts will display if Show is also selected
  • Protection (Trash): Alerts for free Heroic Strike and Sword n Board if Show is also selected
  • Protection (Boss): Alerts for Protection (Trash) as well as Demoralizing Shout and Thunderclap Debuffs if Show is also selected.
  • Arms: Alerts for Rend, Sudden Death, Taste for Blood, and Mortal Strike if Show is also selected.
  • Fury: Alerts for Instant Slam if Show is also selected.

Why another mod?

Warriors have many abilities that are only available when they have certain buffs or their target has certain debuffs. For instance Sudden Death allows Arms warriors to use Execute even when the mob isn't below 20% health.

Some mods went a long way toward helping warriors see these procs. However these mods don't recognize all procs. This mod allows warriors to see a simple pop-up letting them know the most important proc currently available. No more carefully searching through the huge lists of buffs and debuffs hoping that you spot the procs in time.

Also, the easy to use "Check Box" options interface allows you to set your preferred mode without having to type in the name of the proc that needs to be monitored. This mod was created by a warrior, for warriors.

The following alerts are given by this mod.

Shout expiration warnings:

  • Battle Shout
  • Commanding Shout

For Protection Warriors:

  • Sword and Board
  • Heroic Strike (for Glyph of Revenge)
  • Demoralizing Shout expiration warning
  • Thunderclap expiration warning

For Arms Warriors:

  • Sudden Death
  • Taste for Blood
  • Mortal Strike expiration warning
  • Rend expiration warning

For Fury Warriors:

  • Bloodthirst instant Slam

Great addon! I have some requests though.

My main request is to have checks for other debuffs that don't stack with Thunderclap and Demoralizing Shout. If I'm in a raid where these debuffs are provided the window for Thunderclap and Demoralizing Shout will not disappear effectively making the Protection (Boss) mode unusable for me. Here's a site with the list of non-stacking debuffs:

    http://www.wowwiki.com/Debuff

Also the last two requests I have are small things, but I think it would make the use of this addon more streamlined. First add a checkbox or default it to only have it show in combat so you don't have to constantly disable and enable the addon to hide the shout box. Lastly would be it possible to do away with the shout toggle and just have it track for both shouts and let you know when you don't have a shout up?

Thanks again for the great addon!

Well Crap...ur just needy, take the addon and use it! jj :P

This is some great stuff that I apparently never tested. I completely forgot about thunderclapp and demoshout not being allowed if another debuff is present. I'll fix this stuff this week-end and export it as a beta.

I need to think about your other two suggestions. I don't think I will be changing these behaviors.

Does this addon alert you when you can use Revenge , and other moves that can only be performed if the target blocks, evades, misses, ect? Im a noob and cant really tell from the description. If this doesnt do that does anyone know of one that doe?

In short, no its not one of the alerts given by this mod.

    Here is the long story:
I'd like to add this functionality, but I don't know how. This mod is done by monitoring buffs on your character as well as debuffs on your current target. The ability to use revenge has nothing to do with buffs, so I can't monitor it using the mechanisms I'm already using. I need to figure out how this can be done from getting events when things happen (like the target blocking etc.).

If you find a mod that does it, please let me know...I'd like to see how.

MikScrollingBattleText will do that for you. It constantly scans the combat log for any proc/buff, then matches them against whatever parameters have been preset/manually set by yourself and gives you a pop-up announcement. It's not warrior-only, and is a memory hog, but it is a very powerful addon. What I'm looking for, personally, is something that will put up a timer on how much time my procs have before they expire, so that I can better maximize my rotation on the fly.

Hey just downloaded the program. Curse still installs it incorrectly but i was able to move it and make it work. I was wondering if I can move the locations of the alerts. It pops up in the middle of the screen and when not active that field becomes inactive to clicking.

to make it clear when i use Battle Shout or Whirlwind and the window pops up for the time remaining or CD. that same space becomes locked or blocked and does not let me click on the terrain or on npcs.

    any ideas?

    Hey Aximuthial!

Thanks for the feedback. I think that I just need to test this out again. It will be fixed soon.

For your issue, please use the options gui (/wproc options) to uncheck the lock checkbox. Then you can drag the window around with your right mouse button. You may have been trying to move it around with your left mouse button before.

    Good luck!

Gonna test this today after servers are back up. Just noticed that curse client installs it wrong place "wow/interface/addons/warrior-proc-alert/warrior-proc-alert" making it invisible for game.

I didn't think anyone would be downloading this yet (just put it up). So I just updated the How to use section and placed it at the top...my apologies!

I've been using this mod for about a year, and realized that others may like it. If have suggestions other than "OMG this SUXORZ!!!!" please file a ticket or post here :)
