  • About Wardrobe-AL
  •

Wardrobe allows you define up to 30 distinct equipment profiles (called "outfits") and lets you switch among them on the fly. For example, you can define a Normal Outfit that consists of your regular equipment, an Around Town Outfit that consists of what you'd like to wear when inside a city or roleplaying, a Stamina Outfit that consists of all your best stam gear, etc. You can then switch amongst these outfits using a simple slash chat command (/wardrobe wear Around Town Outfit), using a small interactive button docked beneath your radar (Moveable), or define hotkeys in key configuration.

  • /wd - help
  • /wd list - List your outfits
  • /wd wear <name> - wear <name> outfit
  • /wd reset - erase all outfits
  • /wd lock/unlock - For moving Button/Menu.
  • /wd click/mouseover - For method of displaying menu.
  • /wd scale [0.5-1.0] - For scaling the DropDown Menu.
  • /wd auto 1/0 - Toggle auto-swapping

  • ok. I've release 3.19 in beta state and it will stay like that for a bit. I added a toggle to enable the helm/cloak visibility logic in the config settings and it defaults to off. If you don't care about your helm/cloak and want to control it yourself, just ignore that checkbox. but if you want to try it out, feel free. but bewarned it's kinda flooky. I wanted it to work with the game's master setting, but since changing that programmatically will change the game's master setting, it was kind of hard to keep things in sync. When using that feature, there is a setting to show the item (eye), not show the item (eye with X on it), or ignore it (empty box).

I'm taking a break from wow, but wanted to get this version out there since it has other things too, like LDB, so it will be in beta for awhile.

Thank you Swiz. for all the hard work and time you are taking away from actually playing WOW to update the Wardrobe addon. I can't really bash your work because I don't have the knowledge yet to change the addon to my liking. Well, at least not yet. I think if anyone has something negative to say about his addon that they should try programming it and making it work better instead of trying to bash your addon.

    Cheers :)

why does this thing always change my settings when I switch outfits, and check my show helm box. If I wanted to show my friggin' helm, I would check the box itself! Worst. Add-on. Ever.

  • I've demoted 3.17 and 3.18 to alpha until I can get this straightened out. 3.16 was the last version before I added the helm/cloak visibility options to the outfits. Basically what is happening is that the show helm/cloak default settings for Wardrobe are set to "on", so if you had it set the off in the game settings, it will keep setting it to on for the outfits as you switch to them.

Going back to 3.16 would be the easiest way around this until I can get a new version loaded that plays more nicely.

Other options would be to change the default visibility setting in the wardrobe settings to "off" and then uncheck the eye icon in the character panel helm slot for each of the ones that is showing it.

I'm looking into ways to make it work better with the global "Show Helm" and "Show Cloak" options as it doesn't appear to be working properly.

I have changed the default setting to keep the boxes unchecked, however, it doesnt LIKE that, and therefore ignores it. SO changing the options is pointless, just fyi.

  • I agree with kjell03, I can change the settings myself if i want to, that was a negative addition to this addon.

Cool. Now I can get rid of the long outdated Hat Trick.

Any thoughts on adding dual spec support? IE, apply this outfit, then swap to primary spec, apply that outfit and swap to secondary spec, etc. Would let me kill off another addon and get rid of buttons. :)

  • I've released 3.17. I made some more changes to get it to display the dropdown menu of outfits properly. I had to do some UIDropDownMenu magic/hacks to make it work. I think I got it to work nicely now. Using UIDropDownMenu is tricky because it is shared between all addons that use it including the UI itself. When you change stuff in it (like textures, backdrops, alpha, etc) you can easily change the way other addons look - not good. Let me know if you experience any weirdness with 3.17.

    Thanks

  • I just uploaded 3.17 which adds some new features. It's in alpha state right now because of these features. Try it out if you would like to use any of them. If you use Titan Panel, you will need to reselect Wardrobe-AL from the LDB addons to reactivate it. I removed the native Titan Panel interface. Look at the rest of the new features as some of these were feature requests.

    Version 3.17-AL
o Add support for LibDataBroker. This replaces the Titan Panel plugin as Titan Panel supports LDB natively. FuBar plugin is still available as is.
o Add ability to hide cloak/helm per outfit. New buttons are located on the cloak/helm slots for you to enable/disabling the visual for them.
    patch provided by zmnspencer.
o Add Baggins filter to allow filtering of items that don't belong to an outfit. If you have Baggins addon, the filter should show as Wardrobe-AL.
o Change background texture of outfit DropDown menu so that setting opacity to 100% will make it solid black.

  • Installed the newest version of wardrobe, and now when I hover over the minimap icon to get my drop down window I get this error
    "Interface/Addons/Wardrobe/Wardrobe.lua:2
664 bad arguement to #1 'strsub' (string
    expected, got nil)

tried removing it and reinstalling it, total reboot, redownloading it and reinstalling it. Cant think of much else. I will check back if anyone has a clue. Also it does this with no other addons running.

  • 3.16 should hopefully fix this. I found a bug that would cause that if you add and outfit but don't give it a name. I've changed it to only save it if you name it, and any outfits already saved with no name will be removed automatically.

  • Hello,

Thanks for taking over the project. Simple to use and works great. However, im noticing one minor issue. When you have a Main hand weapon and a off-hand as well, Switching back to a profile with a staff that takes up both slots bugs out a bit. It removes the off-hand first, but leaves the main hand and doesnt change to the staff. You have to click the profile again, and then it switches out to the right weapon. I think whats happening is, Wardrobe is trying to switch the staff out with the off-hand first, and what you actually have to do is take the main hand off first to put on a staff and thats were the small problem starts. Hopefully ive explained it well enough for ya. Its not a huge deal, but hopefully you can fix it. :)

Again, appreciate the addon. Thanks a bunch

Out of curiosity what is the difference between wardrobe-al and wardrobe2? I have tired both in the past but I couldn't really tell what was different about the two (I do know that -al stands for ace library's but beyond that nothing).
