  • About Veneration
  •

Veneration is a simple addon, which randomly changes your active Title after a set amount of time or after a random time. Specific Titles can also be blacklisted to prevent them from being displayed.

Features

  • Change your active Title after
    • a contant time (i.e. every 10 minutes)
    • a random time (i.e. sometime between 20 and 40 minutes)
  • Maintain a list of Titles to include
  • Usage of Ace-profiles, which gives you the option to save your settings (list of allowed Titles, interval) globally or on a per-char (or even per-class) basis

Configuration

Veneration taps into Blizzard's configuration menu for addons. This can be accessed via ESC -> Interface -> Addons -> Veneration

In my opinion, you don't have to worry. In fact, the only thing changing is the title you display. It doesn't initiate any "action" ingame that would lead to an unfair advantage over others.
Blizzard changed a large portion of the LUA implementation in 2.0 (Burning Crusade) to not be able to trigger "actions" without keypress or mouseclick. So it is even technically impossible to, for example, automatically trigger a re-buff if your buff expires. That now requires a keypress or mouseclick.
With "actions" I'm primarily referring to spells, that can be cast.
Blizzard just wanted to eliminate the possibility to automatically take action (in form of spells) in response to some event.
Changing titles is not such an action and can therefore be performed automatically and (in my opinion) is perfectly legal conforming to the EULA.
You are perfecty welcome to ask a GM regarding this addon and post the response here. That would be like an official confirmation, although I'm absolutely sure, it conforms to the EULA.

a question about this addon and the EULA, how does the fact that it does an action on its own effect the fact that addons are supposed to do anything without a click from the player? I am not saying it goes against the EULA since I don't know all of it but I do remember a lot of addons have to be changed to include a click. I was wondering before I used it to make sure that a player couldn't be banned from this addon. Again, like I said, I could be competely wrong and have misunderstood. Thanks

It works on live. At least my latest Alpha version.
I'm about to upload a new version, which should work well. Even the black/whiteliste is implemented.
Only lacking error checking, I'll get to that soon ;)

Is this only for the Beta or does it work with the live servers?
