  • About TooManyAddons
  •

This mod is like an 'outfitter' of mods. Type a title and click new profile, select what addons you want to load with this profile, and whenever you click load profile the checked profile will load those, and only those, addons.

Directions:

   * There is a new 'addon' button in the game menu, that opens up the TooManyAddons interface.
   * '/TMA' will also open up the interface.
   * Create a profile by typing in the profile name and hitting enter, or you can use the Default profile.
   * Select which addons you want to load as part of the profile.
   * When it is time to change addons, select the profile, then click 'Load Profile'

features that aren't instantly obvious:

   * '/TMA aProfile' will instantly load that profile. Handy for you macrophiles. Spelling must be exact.
   * The interface can be moved by dragging the 'profile' frame. You have to click on the edge of the frame or a clear spot.
   * A profile called 'Default' is created at the very first use of TooManyAddons, for your convenience. Feel free to delete it.
   * A profile called 'Always Load These Addons' will always exist. Anything checked in this profile will always load, no matter what. The checked items will appear grey or shiny in other profiles. By default, TooManyAddons will be checked in this profile.
   * Tooltips show you the description, author and status of the addon.
   * Clicking an addon will automatically click all of its dependencies.
   * Profiles from other characters can be added to the current profiles using the 'import profiles' dropdown.
   * The addon can be closed with the 'esc' key.
   * Addons may be grouped by name. Collapse/Expand buttons allow you to hide addons that are groups, for example, the AltasMod. Clicking the group header will click all of the addons in the group. Turn this feature on by clicking 'grouping' in the options.
   * Hold down the Ctrl or Shift key when selecting profiles to load addons from multiple profiles. Changes made to addons will affect all selected profiles.
   * The last loaded profile(s) will appear green(ish).
   * Options exist in the interface menu (or click the little 'O' button) to hide the Game Menu button, tooltips, groups, and more.
   * Global profiles are now implemented. Global profiles are profiles that are the same across ALL characters.

I'm experiencing something odd: I was on the "Raid" profile I made, and it wouldn't load any of the other profiles now. It always worked before. I toggle the check on the profile I want, click "Load Profile", and it reloads the UI but stays on the old profile. This happens for the other profiles I tried to load while using "Raid" profile, but it wouldn't work .

Going to select character screen and logging in again doesn't seem to fix it.

I also tried logging out and turning off all addons except TMA, then going in and trying to load other profiles, and it only loaded the "Raid" profile.

I was looking for a way to sort the Profiles and I noticed the SV's have addons listed that I haven't had for a while. Is there a way to purge and refresh the list without losing the profiles? I have 200+ addons.

If I look in the savedvariables file for TooManyAddons, I see all the addons I have ever had: even ones that I deleted weeks ago.
The addon names show in the Dates variable and also throughout the file in various profiles.
Is there a way to have TooManyAddons remove entries from it's savedvariables file for which I do not have an addon installed?
I would NOT want it to remove the entries automatically but would like for it to have an option for me to select.

Example: I tried an addon called "Fred". I didn't like it so I removed it. Toomanyaddons will show Fred in the Toomanyaddons.lua savedvariables file even though the addon no longer exists in my interface\addons folder.

It shouldnt be too hard. But why? And why are you looking at the savedvariables files?

I was looking at the saved variable file to see if there was anyway to rearrange it, thinking I could sort the Profiles in an order that would make sense. My profiles as they are now are listed like this:

    DK PVP
    DK
    HUNTER
    HUNTER PARTY
    HUNTER RAID
    TEMPLATE
    HUNTER PVP
    DK PARTY
    DK RAID

So in looking for a way to sort them I started looking through this file and found addons and profiles that I haven't had or used in forever. Unlike a lot of people, I don't just ask the authors for a million features, especially if its just a little tweak in a file that can be done.

What he said. And thanks for clarifying for me(s-conley). Weird that you keep having the same issues I do. Oh btw, thanks for the TTW tip, it was exactly what I needed (until it breaks anyway).

  • Hi, great addon, I've been looking for something like this for like ever. Thank you so much for the versatility. Two requests though. First, is it possible to make new addons that have just been downloaded red or flagged somehow so I can immediately assign them to a category? Second: This is an idea I got from Quip. Is there a way to add which categories/profiles an addon is in to the tooltip? So when I mouseover Simple Threat Meter, I can easily see that it's been added to DSP and Tank profiles.

If you haven't already figured it out, you can use the sort button at the bottom and select date acquired it will put the newest addons at the top

Those screen shots have no addons filling up the screen compared to what I have on my screen.

Feature request: please add a lock/unlock toggle for profiles, even if its just for a global "always load these addons" profile. I've lost count of the number of times I've accidently hit clear on the global 'always load...' list over the last few days.

I've just started using your addon.
I'm having a problem, at least I think it is a problem.
When I log onto a character, the addon is checking the profiles I was using from the previous logged on character.
Example: I have 2 global profiles called Mage and Hunter.
I logon to my hunter and check the Hunter profile and click load. Everything looks good.
I logon to my mage and check the Mage profile and check load.
When I log back onto my hunter, the Mage profile is checked.

Maybe I mis-understood global profiles. I was hoping that I could create a global mage profile and use it on all of my mages, one for hunters, etc.

"Always Load These Addons" profile as a global profile.

I was able to make "Always Load These Addons" work globally for all my characters by deleting the local copy from each character. I first made it global for one character. When I signed onto another character I had two versions (one local and one global). The local version was empty.

Is that the way it is supposed to work and will it continue to work that way in future versions?

Is there any way to get a confirmation box for profile deleting? I can't tell you how many times I've hit that button instead of the load one by mistake. >.>
