  • About TimerButtons
  •

This mod has been deprecated. I have created a new mod that does everything that TimerButtons did and has far more features and options. Check out ButtonTimers

This mod is a DoT timer, but it has a unique approach.

With this timer, you choose a list of spells to monitor and those bars show up in fixed locations on the screen.

This makes it easier to maintain a set of DoTs on a mob. Rather than looking at a bunch of timer bars and trying to figure out what spell is missing, you can tell immediately what spells are on the mob and what are not.

To configure it, type /tb menu or just look in the blizzard interface menu.

Features:

  • Supports all classes
  • Supports both DoTs and beneficial effects
  • Separate displays for main and focus targets
  • Bars show number of seconds left rather than the percentage of the spell's total duration left. Max number of seconds shown is configurable.
  • You can configure when the display is up: Always, only when you have a valid target, only when you have effects on the target.

Some spells are handled specially:

  • Any warlock curse will be displayed in any curse timer. So only monitor one curse effect, what ever curse you cast will be tracked on that bar. Hunter stings and Paladin judgements work the same way.
  • Some effects will be displayed even if cast by someone else. Most of the CC spells fall into this category. Warrior's Demoralizing Shout and Thunder Clap also work this way.
  • This also works for other debuffs with the same effect. Monitoring Thunderclap, for example, will also show Frost Fever if it is up on the target. Any suggestions as to other effects that should fall into these categories are welcome.

If you haven't already, try ButtonTimers. It does everything that TimerButtons does and has far more features and options.

  • I like this addon so much, i've tried buttontimers and it didn't suit me that well. I like this one better, but thing is It's currently bugged, and it shows not only my debuff effects.. it also refreshes if someone elses did his DoT. so therefore I wouldn't know when to refresh it, because it would be running up for me in my UI even tho its not mine. It's someone elses, can this be fixed manually and easily by myself? Or should I just quit it? :S I know Misen is doing a great job and another project, I dont want to bug you mate so much, but if it can be fixed easily by just me, please guide me, thanks.

What is stopping you from switching to ButtonTimers?

It's actually pretty simple to fix the problem that the 3.1 patch introduced, but I'd rather work on making ButtonTimers the best possible mod for everyone.

Donc en gros ma question c'est: Comment ajoute t'on des sorts pour les voir s'afficher s'il vous plait ? Merci !

This mod is not properly localized, and the spell names were hard coded. So you are only seeing the spells whose English names are the same as the localized French names.

Try my new mod, ButtonTimers. It does not have this problem.

  • Could you add Soulstone, Incinerate, Fear, Howl of Terror? That would be so cool to be able to track the cooldowns on these spells.

I'm not going to be maintaining TimerButtons any more, because I have written a new mod that accomplishes the same thing as TimerButtons.

ButtonTimers is far more configurable, doesn't rely on a set list of spells, and even has clickable buttons. It's easy to set up, too.

Check it out. I'm calling the current version Beta, but it has been pretty stable for me.

I play a mage and just downloaded this today, in hopes of being able to track my Living Bomb a little more effectively, but Living Bomb is not to be found. Can this spell be added to the mix?

  • There are two things that, as an affliction warlock, I would love to see in this addon. The first is an option to have the addon be more accurate. DoTs like Unstable Affliction and immolation can be almost impossible to time since they have a 1.5 second cast time.

Another interesting option would be to be able to manually set the duration of the spells. Reducing the duration of Unstable Affliction/Immolation by 1.5 seconds and the duration of haunt by 4 seconds would mean that I could just cast the spell when the timer is at 0 and I wouldn't need to watch for it be be at a particular number.

If you could please do one of these then it would be awesome. I love how fantastic Timer Buttons is and I do not want to switch to a different dot tracking addon.

I haven't yet finalized the name. I expect it to be out before 3.1, it's in pretty good shape already.

  • Oh, another thing, I suppose it will be patch 3.1 compatible?

    Thanks in advance.

  • This certainly sounds promising! As I've mentioned earlier, I need one localised for Europe. Will it be beneficial in PvP? Arena?
    Pet cc-ing?

But you have not told us what it is called. What be thee name, new addon, replacer of TimerButtons?

Hey all, I am working on a new mod to replace this one. I'll leave this one here in case people don't like the new one, but this mod won't be getting much attention.

The new mod accomplishes the same thing as TimerButtons, but in a somewhat different way.

The new mod gives you custom action bars with timers attached.

There will be 4 bars with up to 12 buttons each.

For each bar you can choose a target (initially just target and focus).

Then drag whatever spells/abilities you want onto the bar.

By default, each button will have a timer that looks for an aura on the target with the same name as the spell you put on the button. You can also configure it to track other aura names, or cooldowns of the spell on the button or another spell that you specify.

The new mod will be usable in all locales (I don't promise all of the text will be translated, but it should at least be functional on all clients).

The new mod will have nearly all of the features of TimerButtons right off the bat, as well as some new configuration options. I have rewritten the whole thing using Ace3, so new configuration options are much easier to add now.

Love the addon. Would be cool if the dots go in a ascending or descending order dependant on how much time left. Keep up the good work =D

I use this mod exclusively for my affliction lock and it is awesome, but i would like to use it for my hunter also. Is there any way you could add Hunter traps and the feed pet / mend pet bars to this awesome mod.

    Thanks for the great work!

Is there any way to add the warlock Shadow Embrace effect to this? I currently use the ClassTimer addon to do this, and just have it directly under my TimerButtons, in the same style, but it would be nice to do this with one addon.
