  • LONG-time user of this mod and I must say it's just fantastic. Lately, I've been playing around with stuff like kg panels and other UI artwork and I've come to the conclusion that TT doesn't really fit very well into that kind of art scheme. Are there any plans, some day when you're bored, to change the look of TT? Perhaps the background color, frame alpha, border size? No big deal of course.. great mod and I will somehow find a way to integrate it, I am sure.... just was curious if that was on the menu or not.

    looks great now! :)

    Here's something I noticed that's kinda odd - scrolling.
If I set it so that 1. is at the top of the list of whispers, you would think that to get back up to the top of the list, you scroll up. In fact, you have to scroll down to get back to the top.

If I invert the list so 1. is at the bottom, I have to scroll UP to see it.

Otherwise, it looks like everything is fixed :) though I'm a noob and can't find any right-click menu.

    Thanks!

yes scrolling has always been that way with TT. up is up down is down. for soem reason karl or his compadres made it that way a long time ago, and i dont want to "fix" it as its part of how it works and people are used to.

its a matter of perspectiove if its more correct. they way they did it is liek dragging the list up and down, rather than meanign go to bottom ot top.

using .34, I can see the list, but for some reason it only populates the top line. I see 1 name at the top, then the rest of the lines are blank. If i try to scroll, the top most bar runs through the names, but I can't see more than 1 at a time..

If you drag-resize the listbox slightly, it should fill the rest and stay that way.

  • I updated to 2.2.28 and kept getting errors so although 2.2.30 is lower on the list, i tried that one instead. It's not spitting out errors but the whisper frame is transparent and is not showing names at all.

  • err.. i take that back. Now names are showing up but I can't clear them off and my replies are not showing up on their individual chat windows either.

    Just updated to .28

    [07:40:S] ##SafeCall exception#Interface\AddOns\TellTrack\UI_Button.lua:12: attempt to index global 'TellTrack_cmdlist' (a nil value)#

Doesn't show up when logging in, and /telltrack doesn't do anything. I got the above error by clicking on the Titan Panel icon for TT.

Since alot of chat addons allow /tt for telltarget it's really usefull for sending a message to a targetted player in a macro when you cast a spell on them, I use it usually for divine intervention and bubbles, but this command in a macro seems to trigger the /tt menu spam.

It would be really handy for the shortcode to be changed to /ttrack or similar to avoid this conflict. I'm probably not the only one whos noticed this and it's such a small issue in an otherwise brilliant addon.

    regards,

    ATTENTION :)
btw, i would like a top 10 features and fixes, posted by anyone interested, below. please reply to this comment about whatever you want, have ever wanted, what you hate, or what you love. All this wil help

When I brought this addon back from the dead, over a year ago by now i think, it was mostly broken and nearly unusable. I think all of the features work again now, some perhaps for the first time, and i really want to finsih makign it updated and whole. I know that familiarity and happiness with what TT does and its long history are important, and i dont want to disturb whats magic about it at all... I used it back int eh day too. There are also new users who expect more and see this compared to other addons and might expect some updated looks and features and i dont wish to alienate them right off the bat either. For those that love, and those came to feel like they cant do without this plugin, because of how and what it is and does, i with you. It was a unique idea esp back in the day that hits a sweetspot where other addons get carried away in one direction or another. Its one of those things tht after you use it and "get it" its hard to do with out.

some things im considering, but want everyones input:
    1. Save chat whipser history, like elephant does
    1. UI cleanup. The style is very old.
    - buttons (player items in the list) to look like normal blizz list
    - list has highlight item, as hover over list items, like blizz ui
    - remove the boxes around the list items, this woudl allow the fosnt to be bigger but no cute buttons
    - allow list and border transparency options
    - similarly make the up and down arrows not so shiney bold white, so not so distracting
    - also, but harder, considering making the list a detachable tab that can look play and function like a blizz chat tab
    - fixing the non usable list tiems, (Empty) to not say empty but say notthing like a normal list
    - cosiderign removing the inverted list option, thi smakes things very complicated but some may absolutely love it
    - want to know if bindings are actually used adn what would be better.

  • This addon is fantastic. I really like it just the way it is and would be quite happy with just bug fixes for the rest of eternity. However, if you are going to change some things, here are some thoughts:

If you do decide to save whispers, please make that an optional feature as I really dont feel like storing 50 conversations from possible recruits for my guild. If you're thinking of temporary storage like if you were to re-log, there is a mod called Short Term Memory that already does that and saves gchat and such as well.

I like the idea of the list and border transparency options... but what makes this mod so nice is the way the names change color based on who responded last so please dont remove that.

I guess I would like to be able to remove the border and still be able to easily scroll through the list of whispers. At this point I have no border showing with 4 spaces open for whispers, but if I say "whisper me for invite" that quickly overwhelms that little window. Perhaps an option to quickly enlarge the list for a situation like that (perhaps a large box popping up in the middle of your screen) and being able to get rid of it as soon as it's no longer needed would work. I dont need to keep a conversation with these ppl-- I just need to click invite.

Thanks for the work on this mod. I've used and loved it for a long time. =)
