If you like this mod please dont forget to rate it, Ty...

Last Updated :
10/15/2008 - Updated to work with the recent 3.0 patch.

Future Plans :
Add a minimap button to toggle the calculator... in the meantime you can make a macro that will toggle the calculator using the /calculator command...

Known Issues :
1. Does not work using the numbers above the alpha keys or the numberpad of a traditional keyboard. (Top fix priority...)
2. If you using more than 26 digits the numbers will start to run off the calculator screen but you can still fully see your problems / calculations etc... same applies for the answer if it is more than 26 digits long.
3. Division doesn't always work... but does work about 85% of the time...

Features :
A Simple calculator for all your basic calculating needs.

If you're updating this mod from an old installation please make sure that you delete all of your previous files relating to this mod.

- Compatible with AH
- Perform all the basic calculations
- Movable window
- ESC Close window

Commands :
/calc or /calculator - Toggles calculator

    I'll look into it but thats not on my high priority list right now...

  • Can you make a Fubar toggle for it?

    I'll look into this and see if I can find a fix for it... but my work has me held up so it might be a bit... anyone else who has or can find a fix before me is more then welcome to email it to me CloudsBreak@aol.com

    Edit : 8/28/2007 : I just cheked with some free time and division actually works for me with the current upload I have here... so I dont know what your problem could possibly be.

    Edit : 925/2007 : While division does work for some it has been borught to my attention that it does not work for all... dont know why but I am looking into this.

  • Just a little one... Everything seems to work fine - except divide. It always returns 0 for any division I do. Anyone else had this?

    I will gladly look into this for you but in the meantime what you can do is make a macro that utilizes the /calc or the /calculator command then take the button from that macro and add it to one of you empty hotbutton slots where you have your spells and stuff... then all you need to do is tap the button like any other macro button to open n close the calc screen ;-)

  • May i suggest adding a button at the minimap or something to toggle it?

    A keyboard is a keyboard. If you spend extra for one that you'll only use on occasion, then so be it. Not hating, but to each their own. Oh and love the calc. :)

    Once again not to get off topic here but iff you wouldnt mind can you PM me here on curse with the exact model number of the board you have so I can check it out, and Ty.

    @everyone

    Still looking into a "fix" to make this mod work with the numbers above the alpha keys and the numberpad thats on a traditional keyboard... I'm trying to find someone to help me work out a fix for this... but in the meantime all I ask is for everyones patience and understanding... even without the use of said keys this still is a great mod and Ty to those of you who have voted positively on this mod so far, its users like you that make me and other mod guys stay in the "game" of things soto speak heh.

  • I LOVE mine! I tried The G15, and other 'gaming' keyboards...but I will never regret buying this keyboard! It's great investment , plus if u play other games there are a lot of other inserts!

  • @justcallmefred...

    Not to get off topic of this mod... but for curiosity sake those worth the money... Ive been looking into getting one just not sure if I should. I was told they make gameplay a little better / easier...

    Just because it doesnt work via keyboard assignments right now doesnt mean one should not use it... but yes now that I know that I will have a friend help me get that implemented so he can test it for me as I work on the code... in the meantime is a few extra clicks to get some math done really that much trouble hehe... either way ty to those of you who have downloaded this mod so far...

    Tested v1.0 and no, it doesn't work via any keyboard input at all.

    Not via the number pad or the numbers above the alpha keys. Only by clicking the buttons within the GUI using the mouse cursor does it work. Not very convenient.

    QuickCalc & Xcalc are the move convenient mod alternatives until this mod responds to keyboard input.

    As I dont have a computer with a traditional keyboard (using a laptop) , I'm going to add a note to the mod page here that this mod may or may not work with the numbered keypad on a traditional keyboard... when I have some feedback from some users as to wether or not it does infact work with the number pad on a traditional keyboard will determine wether or not I need to remove or keep this info as a "known" issue...

    @Zidomo

    It may work via the number pad , thats one thign I cant answer right now as I have more or less always used a laptop which doesnt have a "number" pad to the right like the more traditional keyboards... As for the numbers running off the screen thing... it still shows the numbers it just runs them off of the interface window... type in more than 26 numbers and you'll see what I mean but as for right now I'm trying to find a "fix" for this...

    @serzzer

    It works as you type it in... you dont have to hit enter so you can do stuff like 12*12+7-4+3*8 and it keeps going like a real calculator... it adds as you go so you dont need to hit enter before typing in new stuff thats part of a long "problem"... it it auto-calculates as you hit the * , - or + keys etc...

    @muzzleloader

    Even without being an avid player of the Ah this still would be a must have... its nie to be able to calculations on the fly literally... say your mid flight gettin ready to meet a buyer and you have a 10 min flight time to kill... well theres 10 mins to do your calcs ingame while still being able to watch yourcharacter andn ot needing to tab out to windows...

    @Deaper

    trust me I know what it is like to "tab" out to windows to use the calc to come back and find out you have more buyers waiting or one left because you took to long... this has many uses that will save you time and hopefully get you through your buyers more quickly... andd your welcome ;-)

    @Deaper: Yes, other people have made calculators before. The mod search box(es) here on Curse are your friends.

    WoW 2.x/BC compatible ones: --"QuickCalc" (first release 2005(!)/latest Dec '06). Combination command & GUI calculator. Its what I'm currently using. --"Xcalc" (first release Aug '06, latest Jan '07). GUI calculator like the one here. --"GnomeCruncher" (first/latest release Mar '07). "Multi-line" semi-GUI calculator. And more non-BC compatible ones as well (CalcIt, etc.) dating back to 2005.

    As to the TBC Calculator - Simple Calc mod itself, it looks like a nice alternative to Xcalc. Two things: in addition to the question in the post by Zerazar, does this only work by clicking the GUI buttons? Or will it work via keyboard assignments (i.e. the number pad on keyboard)? I'll likely be trying this out, but would be nice for others to know ahead of time.

    Also, as per your known issues above, what is the decimal precision of this? Would it be possible to instead of having numbers running off the screen that you round very long decimals so that doesn't happen? I've never seen that issue with Xcalc, QuickCalc or any non-WoW calculator.

    Question: How does it calculate, step by step as you type it in, or in one line until you hit enter(or whatever)?

  • What Deaper said. As an avid player of the Auction House an in-game calulator is must have.

  • Using the FuBarPlugin library you can create a minimap button quick and simple. Just a suggestion from a fellow addon author :)

  • I suggested that you may make this addon support Fubar and Titan.
    nice job!
