This addon is able to make suggestions of what spell you may want to cast next by flashing on top of the spell buttons.

This addon has functionality added for Warriors, Hunters, Warlocks, Pets and Argent Tournament mounts so far.

Support has been added for the addons: Bartender, Dominos, Extra Bars, nUI and OpenRDX.

Please let me know what you think! I would appreciate any feedback I can get. I have not been able to extensively test this addon out other than with a trial account, because I have ran out of game time and can not afford to buy any more at the moment.

To open the SpellFlash options window, you may use the following slash commands:
/spellflash
/sflash
/sf

I have been trying to use these colors for labeling what kinds of spells are being flashed:
White: Default
Yellow: Limited Time or No Global Cooldown
Purple: AOE or Positional Damage
Blue: AOE Debuff
Orange: Finishing Move
Aqua: Spell Interrupt, Reflect or Dispel
Green: Self Buff or Turn Autocast On
Red: Emergency Mitigation Cooldowns or Turn Autocast Off
Pink: Optional

Will flash a macro if the macro itself is named/labeled with the desired spell name with the upper case letter F attached to the end of the macro name/label.
Example: Heroic StrikeF
Example: Commanding ShouF
The spell name must be in the language of the used game client with the capital letter F at the end of it.
If the macro name/label is renamed,
then you will need to move the macro off of or onto one of the action bars for the change to be detected.
This will not be able to flash more then one spell for each macro since a macro may only have one macro name/label.

If you have even five or ten dollars to spare it would mean an awful lot to me and my family.

    I play a warrior. I did all my therycraft on the EJ forums for spell rotations and then found this a few days later. Lol this mod is great. Well done. The spell rotation was what the forums said it should be.
    I love the pummel flashing as I often miss spell casts. I miss them no more. Your a smart cookie. Many thanks.

  • Hey Nice addon!

    Few things I think could improve your great addon:

    -Being able to disable/enable Buffs/Debuffs flashing.
    -Some abilities , hamstring for example and all other situational , PvE/PvP "only" abilities should also be able to be disable/enable.
    -Being able to drag and drog abilities to form a rotation would be simply fantastic.
    -And last but not list : profiles so I can reconfigure everything from PvE to PvP or when I change specc.

    Great addon overall with lots of potential.I know some of my ideas may involve too much work or not even be possible due to game restrictions but if your "hunting" for ideas here are some :p

  • It has been a while since I have looked at the code, but I do have it respond differently for players then it does for NPCs. For instance, if the NPC is targeting you it will not hamstring. I have not looked at the code again to confirm this, but I guess this may be a problem if you are not the one tanking.

    Again, I want to stress that I am no longer playing the game because of a severe lack of income. I don't got any money to play the game, so not much motivation to add additions for an addon that has been around for about a year, and I have so far received in total with all my addons included: $5 in donations and a $20 gift certificate from amazon.com. I am not able to continue development until I am able to play the game without worrying about paying my internet bill.

  • Thank you, it is nice to receive appreciation. I don't get much if any money though, so I may not be able to continue development for a while. I can not afford to play the game any longer. Not sure when I will be able to again.

  • I have it set up to register the action bar button number that a spell has been found on. The problem with this is that some action bars duplicate an action bar button number and I have it stop searching for more action bar slots after the button number has been found. I could have it continue to search the rest of the bars but in most cases this would just be a redundant flash that would only serve to wast more system resources. I may just have it scan all bars in the next release anyway, and if I get complaints I can always add an option in the options window to have it only search for the first found spell button on the bars.

  • love this addon but i need it to work with mages too and i have a paladin friend that would like for it to work for him too. the rotation improved my dps on my lock real good thank you for the addon

  • I would like to add more classes and I have included the components necessary for more classes to be added, I just do not know enough about other classes I don't play to add the necessary rotation scripts. Someone on another sight has expressed interest in adding the code for Mages himself, so hopefully that will pan out some day. I do not know how complicated Paladins are, but since they are mostly a melee class they might not be any more difficult to add script for then the Warrior class. I however am not familiar with Paladins at all.

    If anyone wants to donate any code to add functionality for classes that have not been covered I would gladly include it.

  • I will hopefully have this bug removed in the next release. As far as I can tell it does not harm functionality, just produces an error.

    Works great on my Beastmaster Hunter spec, on Survival spec only Hunter's Mark flashes, even after I've cast it several times. Tried soloing and testing, never flashes anything other than Hunter's Mark.

  • Not much is different between specs. What are you missing? Are they on your bars? I have tested survival myself and have found no problems so far.

    Did you do a full respec, or did you switch to a secondary spec? Do you scan for known spells on load, or do you catch the secondary spec switch?

    Haven't tested it yet, but I'm going to try switching to surv then relogging.
