Demo

SimpleContactList performs autocompletion for the "sendee" field of in-game mail.

It lets you override your friends list and guild so that you can use your friends list for actual friends instead of your own alts, etc! Type "/scl" for usage information.

NOTE TO USERS OF VERSION PREVIOUS TO 3.0.2-1.01 (And Old MailingList): You will have to reconfigure your lists. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. This should be the last time.

USAGE: /scl <LIST> <COMMAND>
There are two lists: realm & char. The realm list is shared by all your toons. The char list is per-toon.
Shorthand: /pml = /scl char | /gml = /scl realm
Commands: add rem show clear help
The add & rem commands take space-separated lists of names.
Example: /pml add fred barney - add fred & barney to char list
Example: /gml rem samson dirk - remove samson & dirk from realm list

    I love this addon, but as of the new 3.1 patch, it doesn't seem to be working. Not popping people from the list into the mail window in alphabetical order, can't quite figure out what order it's putting them in, or if the game is just pulling them from the friends list. :(

    It's still being published as MailingList. So, for now just rename the directory from MailingList to SimpleContactList. I am working to fix this as quickly as possible. :(

    Hm, sorry to say that but latest version is not working at all for me, after the Curse CLient update, it was still using the old Mailing List, so did a manual newe install, and now it does not work at all
    it doesn't even show up in the addon list, so i guess that some file is missing in the package

    I forgot to change a setting on my project at curseforge. So, it was still producing downloads packaged in a "MailingList" directory. It's been fixed now so that it does the proper "SimpleContactList" name. Sorry for the mixup. :)

    Ugh OK, I see the problem. The automatic rollout system has a problem. It's still putting it in a directory called MailingList. I'll see about getting it fixed.

    For now: Just rename the MailingList directory to SimpleContactList.

    I'll upload a fixed version shortly and ask the admins to fix the auto-rollout for it.

    First, let me thank you for keeping this mod alive when so many other useful ones get discarded. It's been a year since my last comment and for the majority of that time 've been a faithful and devoted user of this, including recommending it to friends. I hate to think how I'd replace it now, short of re-adding everyone to all my alts' friend lists!

    Secondly, I'm afraid I have some complaints about the latest version. By changing from /pml and /gml to /ml {realm/char}, you've made adding and removing people from lists much more complicated, especially as lists cannot be added anymore - I used to use a single updating macro to keep my mailing lists current on all my chars, and I can't do that anymore because so much is required to add each individual character. :( bring back "/gml add tom *** harry"!

    Thirdly, Realm lists still don't differentiate between Horde and Alliance characters. I wouldn't mind having to set a flag when I add the char, but at least let me have some way of stopping myself from sending Bob the Horde's mail to Bernie the Alliance...

    I will add /pml and /gml back in (also keeping the current command structure), and I will have all commands accept lists again.

    I will also add code to maintain two lists per realm (horde/alliance).

    Check back in a few days. I _should_ have time to get at-least one of these tasks done by then.

    Dude, you have made my life so much easier. My wife has two accounts (20 characters on our home server) and I have the full 10 characters as well. On top of that my brother has 3 (!!!) accounts, very much nearing the full state as well. This mod is awesome. Adding in via list as described would just be the icing on the cake.

    Actually, MailingList is a bit of a misleading name. It doesn't have anything do with mailing lists. Which is why I'm going to change the name. Just as soon as I pick one!
