  • About ShamanBuffBars

This addon provides 2 seperate bars which contain both your self-weapon buffs (rockbiter, flametongue etc.) as well as your shield spells.

Notes:

  • To move, hold down ctrl and drag with right click.
  • Compatible with all language clients of WoW (not tested though).
  • Keybindings are available in the GUIs.
  • There is an option in the weapon bar config menu to turn on auto-hiding of the bar. The bar will stay hidden most of the time, until your weapon buff expires, in which case it will show again until you recast one.
  • There is a similar feature for the shield bar, however since blizzard doesn't allow hiding or showing of bars during combat, instead of the bar physically disappearing, the relevant shield icon will change to indicate which shield is active, and go back to normal when the shield buff wears off.

To install, copy the ShamanBuffBars folder into your Addons directory.

For example: C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons/ShamanBuffBars

    If you're getting an error when clicking the minimap button or whatever then it sounds as if the syntax of the fubar lib may have changed (if I remember correctly it handles the minimap button also). If this is the case, everyone should really be having the same problem - I don't have an active account at the moment so I can only guess, but if you can paste the detailed error here (using some sort of error grabber like bugsack) I may be able to fix it.

    Not sure what happened...I had to recently had to re-enable all my addons for the recent patch (Thx for fixing the bugs by the way) but when I went to use buffbars to throw my stuff on, it was gone, I looked for the short cut button that's usually on my radar but it's missing. I have to type /shamanbuffbars every time I log on to activate and bring up the buffs. How do I get the button back? Also, when I first click the buttons to bring them back to the screen, a bug report shows up, I click cancel and click them again and it shows up. Anyone else having that problem? Let me know if this doesn't make any sense. I'll try to clarify. Thanks!

    I found a solution for the Watershield and Earthliving weapon bug. The addon seems to expect only 250 spells. When you hit level 79 and get the new Watershield you have more than that.

    To fix the problem you have to edit the file ShamanBuffBars.lua and change the number 250 in line 574 into a 300. That's all! :)

    I only got the WaterShiled bug as I leveled 79. And the icon didnt disapear but instead shows the EarthSield icon. If I uncheck the WaterShield in the options one of the two displayed EarthShields disapears. I have the german client.
    I have an additional problem here. The earthliving weapon isnt displayed. I can Imagine it is a translation issue, as the options only give the english spell name there. Earthliving Weapon is in german " Waffe der Lebensgeister". I hope that this might help you finding the bug.

    I've got the same problem, at level 76 with rank 9 Water Shield. It bugs, and Water Shield is no longer displayed on the Shield Bar.

    Not getting any error message though.
    Happened as soon as I learnt rank IX.
    Weapon buffs and lightning shield is working fine.

    This is odd.. I tried it just now on my shaman, both with all my addons on and none, and water shield was working fine. My shaman is only 62, so I don't have rank 9, but I was able to train a new rank at 62 with the button updating the rank successfully.. the only thing I can think of is glyphs messing around with the spell, although its all done by spell name. Are you using any water shield glyphs?

    Also did you try with no other addons running?

    Tried turning off all other addons, wiping out WTF folder and redownloading, no luck.

    I'm assuming it's something odd about rank 9, because I believe lvl 76 training was when it vanished and although I have Glyph of Water Shield, I had the glyph before I lost the shield. New weapon buffs and Lightning Shield ranks are fine, I'm not resto so can't test Earth Shield.

    Hopefully it's an easy fix, and hopefully there's a 76+ shaman you can borrow to see if I'm insane or not.

    Tested trying to get an error and the best I came up with was this:

    Error: invalid key to 'next'
    Count: 5

    I can make this appear by unticking and reticking Water Shield from the menu WHILE Earth Shield is also ticked (as an ele without the spell). If Earth Shield is unticked I can't get any error to appear. Tested with + without bucksack equivalent, made sure 'lua errors' were being displayed, etc.

    Hmm, it could very well be something related to rank 9. I'll ask around with my friends if anyone has a highbie shaman, I don't think so though. It most likely is an easy fix, the only problem is I don't know WHAT to fix :(
    If all else fails I might need to have a look at some other addon code to check how they cast rank 9.
