  • About GuildNote
  •

This addon runs quietly and invisibly. There are no configuration options. It simply places your tradeskill information into your Public Note so that your guild members can see who in the guild is at what level when viewing the in-game guild roster.

Public notes will look something like this:

     Enchant 327/Mining 364

You need to have permission to update your Public Note, so your guild leader will have to enable this for your rank if it's not already.

This addon also works great with RedBanker (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sc_red-banker.aspx), which if installed will show you which guild member can use any item you pick up, in case you want to give back to your guildies.

GuildNote is based on GuildNote by Daelic (http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files/details/799/guildnote/), which hasn't been updated since April 2005.

Yeah, having trouble uploading my Zip file.

Curse keeps rejecting it because it's 'Corrupt'

Rather strange as I can extract and use with no trouble. :/

Might see if I can put on wowui with my SC_ChaChing. At least you'll be able to download.

  • A nice helpful mod for our guild, but seems to have stopped working somewhere around 3.1, any chance of an update?

  • The install package from the author has a bug. You need to go to the add ons folder and move the contents of the "GuildNote (1.1)" folder one level up, into the "Add Ons" folder itself.

    Kcupit,
Is there a way to make this a guild leader friendly where the guild leader can download this addon, and install it to collects all members information some how, like the old version, SC_GuildNote hinted in doing? Thi would be greatly handy for guilds that don't want members messing with the notes, and still would like to be able to see fellow members TS lvl, while also using Redbanker.

Also does this automatically update as the tradeskill lvl increases?

    Thank you.

Is there any way to add secondary skills such as cooking or first aid to the list of notes created?

  • I'm unclear after reading the description - do you have to have access to change your own public note for this addon to work the way it's supposed to? In my guild, only officers can change public note, and I'm not an officer.

Yes, you need to have access to changing your own Public Note in your guild for this addon to work. There's no way around this at the moment.

well i think i just found some details now, one of my chars has Skinning / Tailoring and the update of the guildnote worked fine until i reached the 100th skillpoint of skinning, now it just shows "Kürschnerei " :(

Please let me know if you're still seeing this problem. It may be a localization issue that was contributed to the project in the last release.

Thanks for the extra info! I'll look into it and post a new version likely within a few days to fix enabling/disabling the addon per character, and see what I can do about localization for other clients. Much of the code is from the original GuildNote addon by Daelic two years ago, but I'm sure I'll figure something out :)

Unfortunately there's no way to find out how someone has specialized, as it's actually a limitation of WoW and the Lua programming language behind it. I wish there was a way too, and as soon as Blizzard implements it I'll add it to SC_GuildNote.  :)

Dessa, it sounds a lot like you might not have the addon turned on for that character, but I could be wrong. Please go into your addons screen, make sure your "Configure Addons For" box says "All", and then turn off SC_GuildNote and turn it back on again. Then click "Okay" and try it again. Please let me know if you're getting the same problem (and thanks in advance!)

this only works well with one char. for the other chars i have i see just the tradeskill (like Enchant in the example) but not how far it progressed beside of that the note is cutted off after Enchant and a space so my second tradeskill doesn't show up

I've been using this for my own characters and I like how my guild can see my trade skills are progressing. I will be recommending this to my guild members as well as I will be taking a look at your SC_redbanker add-on too.

Quick question: Does this pick up specializations? Example: Alchemist have Potion Mastery, Elixir Mastery and Transmute Mastery. If not I guess use the officer notes for that.

Your Public Note is updated whenever one of two things happens, either:

    1) You open and close a tradeskill window, or 2) You gain a skill point in any of your tradeskills

I'll update the description on Curse Gaming so that functionality is more obviously stated, but I think I have it in the included README file. Let me know if it's still not working and I would love to see what I can do to help.
