A very simple AddOn for tracking rune cooldown. It show all six runes in a vertical row, and they slide from one side to the other when cooling down. A rune should become larger when it transforms into a Death Rune, and runes slide faster when under the effect of the various Rune Mastery talents.

Also includes Runic power gauges and bright indicators when special talent effects are active (eg. Sudden Doom for free death coils).

Positioning and scaling can all be configured by typing '/runehero' in-game.

More features will be added in the future, enjoy!

    Suggest you take a look at UnitPower() och UnitPowerMax() functions (UnitPower replaces UnitMana since 3.0.2) to get the current and maximum power so you don't have to make a special version for 130 cap.

  • It does work... As with all mods when it comes to new patches just click the checkbox "Load Out of Date Addons" in the top right-hand corner of the addons menu.

    For those Frost DKs out there and maybe those Blood DKs preparing for 3.1 i modified this Addon in order to work with 130 RP cap instead of 100 RP (Runic Power mastery).

    In addition to that i made some adjustments to the sorting of the runes (swaped frost with unholy) and moved the RP Textfield onto the blade.

    NOTE: the modified version only works with a RP cap of 130! So if you don't have 2/2 Runic Power mastery, don't use it!

    There are some more things i like to change (vertical instead of horizontal runesliding for example) but i can't say when or even if i will ever finish it.

  • That's odd, mine shows 130 RP when I switch to frost. Try reloading your UI.

    O.O!!!... i was wondering if you could also make it so it has more settings; like...
    if you could see the spells you could cast showing icons beside the runes right as they go down...
    like... if i use up all my runes, and a unholy and then a frost rune are about to come down, a death strike icon could be right beside the frost rune, so when the frost rune reaches the hilt, it means you can use death strike; or it could be for any death knight move you can choose...
    if that makes any sense

    because when i started to think about it, the sword started looking like guitar hero... so... if i could put it in the mid of my screen horizontally id pay more attention to my runes XD

    Id like a guitar hero feel of having it standing up straight.
    Other then that great mod a fun and easy way to track RP and Runes.

    yes you can change the strata of each element, but that requiers a modification in the code direclty (there is currently no ingame option to change it).

    but the code is easy to read (and understand) so if you really need to change the strata, take a look at the addon files.

Since the release of the latest version whenever I open up any of my bags the sword graphic ends up appearing over whatever bag that shows in the same space on my UI. Because of this I end up not being able to see whatever is below the sword graphic, in versions past when I opened a bag and it would be located in roughly the same space, the sword graphic would be covered by my bag. Any way, thanks and keep up the good work.

    you have a special texture that indicates sudden doom / rime procs, but it is only visibile, when your runic power is below 100.

    if your RP is at 100 (or higher as frost) and the sword is "filled", you cant see the proc indicator.

    i already tried some things to fix it but i struggle a little bit changing textures.
    i know, that wow needs som alpha channel informations in order to show/hide parts of the art ingame.

    what i did is, opend your proc texture (red blade) in photoshop and added a small glow to it.

    my goal was, to make that glow surround the blade, so that you would still see that red glow when a proc occurs and your runeblade is already filled with 100 rp (so you dont see the red texture just like it is now, but you see a red glow arround the sword).

    but for some reason, i cant see that glow ingame with the modified texture ^^.
    i guess its cuz of the alpha channel informations (which are still untouched). so the glow part is simply not visible...

    but i suck hard @painting so i dont really know how i could fix this my self, so i hope you have this "issue" on your to do list as well :).

    Since the 1.3.2 update the hilt runes only, have been showing up on non death knight characters, on my death knight it shows the whole sword.
