  •

RecountGuessedAbsorbs is a mode plugin for Recount providing Absorb data collection based on heuristics. This works for any known spell, proc or ability that causes absorbs but is not guaranteed to be accurate.

It's mainly provided to give Disc Priests and other classes who use absorbs to gauge their contribution but should be taken with a large grain of salt because this or other known methods do not work accurately and can fail under typical conditions.

Comments should be directed to the Recount thread on WowAce at http://forums.wowace.com/showthread.php?t=6613

As a discipline priest, I adore this addon.

When so many raid leaders and other healers haven't a clue how discipline works, this has helped me time and time again.

I thought recount already did this?

  • I followed the wowace link and still only found 3.1c_stable as the most recent version, which makes it out of date. Does it work under 3.2?

major bug: Only the first trigger of Sacred Shield is counted (so only about 1/10th what it actually shields)

would be good if the algorithm was given, e.g. "only credits absorption to the person who last cast a damage shield"

Just wanted to express my desire for heal+absorb window. A lot of people still judge healers based on meters, and I hate having to link absorbs and then say "well if you add up this number and that number, I actually don't suck".

I dont care about Heal+Absorb stuff, in the end it'd just be there to boost healers e-peen.
But I've noticed that absorbing damage taken from Divine Sacrifice isnt been recognised at all.
Probably due to a bit different way of absorbed damage.

You may be right, but it depends on who has the epeen problem that matters.

    http://www.wow.com/2009/05/17/forum-post-of-the-day-be-disciplined-about-healing-meters/

There are raid leaders out there who evaluate performance based on meters. Not good raid leaders, to be sure, but that doesn't help the poor disc priest who looks like an idiot because he can't match ret pally "healing". Tools like this, even if it's not totally accurate, can really help out people like that.

    Thanks for a wonderful addon.

An Heals + Absorbs window would indeed be wonderful... too many people still don't know/understand about absorbs, we need any help we can get... One single screen with both types of heal is just what the doctor ordered.

Hi, I'm one of those lucky few who's gotten a Val'anyr and I was very happy to see the very recent update to this addon.

I instantly tried it out and noticed right away that the Guessed Absorb-counter stop going up when I loose the buff on me, even though I still have shields up.

This is a huge issue since it's usually at the end of the proc that the shields are the biggest and the most damage gets absorbed.

I'm not 100% sure that it's because I loose the shield-applying-buff, but it really feels related. I just stop gaining absorb on recount even though I absorb thousands of damage.

It would be GREAT if you could fix this, since this is a great tool to see how useful the mace actually is.
(With the current version of this addon, each proc is worth more than 12000 absorb when spamming holy light =))

Yes, a heal+absorb window would be an important addition. My guild doesn't appreciate what I do as a disc priest because I "don't show up on meters" :P

  • I'd like to request a Healing+Absorb window too.

I like this addition to recount, it's fairly accurate, I've noticed some things though.

I'm a disc priest and I one of my absorbs came from Guardian spirit, that cant be because I dont have the talent, I do have it in my dualspec but guardian spirit doesn't absorb damage.

A fellow priest in my raid, who's holy by the way, seemed to get absorbs aswell but only from divine aegis. obviously he doesn't have glyph of powerword:shield. could it be your addon only calculates powerword:shield based on the glyph and treats the spell powerword:shield itself under the divine aegis?

I second this request to combine heals and absorbs. It is unfortunate that so many people judge Disc healers solely on meters and this would greatly assist in the battle to prove to the meter-whores that discipline is a valuable spec.

Heya, Im a Disc priest and ive used the DiscRecount mod but im afraid of it giving in accruate numbers due to all those reason stated in all the other forums. I remember reading you writing somewhere that you may add a Healing+Absorb window.....May I please request that you add this into this mod? Just one more window thats adds the healing and absorbs together. As I trust the content you make much more then others, you seem to make sure you do yer best to be as accurate as possbile. Thank you.
