Should be great to provide an option to have NO SOUND on quest progression...

For my part, only the final sound is interesting, progress sound is just annoying.

Quick and cool feature to add, I think.

  • I can't get this one to work properly, and can't figure out where or how to change the sounds I want to use. It plays no sound at all when objectives are completed, and I would really like to be able to change the sounds around to what I want. How would I do that?

Thanks for the mod. Two minor issues I'm having (not sure if anyone else can confirm or reproduce) - Throughout the steps of a quest the mod fires the proper sound file but when the quest is complete it fires both sound files at once. The other issue is with tracking the progress of a group member (who also has the mod installed), neither of us receive sound bites indicating the other has progressed.

First issue I could confirm. I worked on it but got no solution for this so far. Depending on the lib I use (indeed this lib does nearly all for me besides of playing sound).
Second issue I had experienced also. The quest progress events are fired into the addon communication channel. I can only guess that maybe the channel is throttled so the sync events are blocked. But it's only a guess and I have no clue how to fix so far.

Here's where I wish I knew more about lua and I could help :( Is there a way to add an extra conditional to the objective update so it only fires if != quest complete? In any case thanks for the quick reply, you've already done more than I could on this one.

v1.1 (released Dec. 1) still has the same error at logon as I previously reported with the first version.

Quest Progress Sound (unknown version--you should put version numbers on the releases--the Nov. 28 one from above), USEnglish client/server, WoW 3.0.3 live.

Log on and the following error is thrown up:

QuestProgressSound-1.0\Locale-deDE.lua:3: attempt to index local 'L' (a nil value)

    This still needs work.

  • Does this do the, "Zug zug" and "Works Done" sounds without all of the goofy tracker tweeking out in the corner of your screen? I'm not naming and FuBarQuestFu names FuBarQuestFu, but I would rather just use quest helpers tracker and still have the sounds. They're just fun. ;o)
