ProximoGrid
This addon combinds the best from two great addons. The configuration from grid, using status indicators where you select what you want to show, with the posibility to show opponents in the arena.
You can now add filters to the opponents buffs, their spell cast and show it as either an icon, text or a small colored square. There is built in support for plugins so it should be easy to add more indicators
or statuses.
How to use
1. When you have installed the addon and start the game for the first time you should see a frame with 3 rows and 5 columns.
2. To open the configuration frame click the icon next to your minimap. The icon looks like Grid's icon. If you use fubar then you will find it there instead.
3. To show test frames click the test button (or type "/pg test" in your chat).
4. As default the frame is visible when you are not in an arena/bg. To hide it go to ProximoGrid -> Layout -> "Frame Lock". That will hide the test frame and make it unmovable in the arena/bgs.
Setup the status and indicators
1. Open the configuration frame as described in "How to use". Then go to the "Status" expander.
2. There can you find all the settings for the statuses you want to use. So for example go to the "Health/Mana" expander. Then click on on "Health".
3. You will no see some options and one will be "Threshold". If you change that too 100% you can now always the see (in the default configuration) opponents health instead of their name.
4. None of these changes will have any effect on the test frame and is only visible when you have entered the arena/bg.
Setup announcements
1. Open the configuration frame as described in "How to use". Then go to the "Announcement" expander.
2. Check the "Enable Announcement" and any of the other if you want the announcements to work in BGs and/or the sound warnings to work.
3. Go to a channel you want the announcement to be displayed. An example "Battleground".
4. Check any of the announcements you want to display there.
5. To change the sound or color of an announcement go to more settings.
Setup Macros
1. Open the configuration frame as described in "How to use". Then go to the "Macros" expander.
2. Select a mouse button you want to use.
3. Select an action type.
4. If you select any other than "Target" then you have to enter one more text field. For "Spell" should you enter the name of the spell like "Dispel Magic". For "Macro Name" should it be one of the macros from your macro window. For "Macro Text" should you write a normal macro that should be used like "/cast Dispel.
Troubleshooting
- I can't open the configuration menu.
There are 3 ways of opening the menu. First look for an icon next to your minimap. If you can't find that then if you have fubar installed look for the addon in that bar. If you still can't find it then you could try to write "/pg gui" (without the quotes) into your chat.
-How do I make the window disappear outside the arena/bgs?
By locking the frame. You can do that by going to the configuration window and then:
ProximoGrid -> Frame -> Frame Lock. That will hide the window and make it unmovable in the arena.
-Nothing works, I can't bring up the menu and the slash command doesn't work.
Then it's most likely some conflict with your other addons. The first step to check this is to go to your Main Menu. Then Interface -> Help and then check the box "Display lua errors". When you are done with that logout and login (or write /console realodui in your chat) and see if there is no error messages. If you don't understand the error messages then try to make a comment on curse.com and I'll see if I can find the problem.
If you don't get any error messages then I'll just say as blizzard, try deleting your WTF-folder and Interface folder and try reinstalling everything. But I'll not take any responsibility for anything lost from that and I recommend making a backup before trying that.
Todo list
- Make the dynamic layout adapt the window after how many opponents there are in the arena, so you if you join a 2 on 2 it only has 2 hidden windows from the start.
- Add more indicators, I think of adding more bars and maybe icons to the corners. Any of these additional statuses can be turned off.
- Make the addon work outside arena/bgs, by removing dead or unseen people that have been gone for too long.
- Make it possible to show a main assist person.
- Translations, but I need help from you here.
- Make pets work
ProximoGrid Beta 9.0
-Fixed bugs for 3.1 so it should now be possible to use.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.
