Tired of grouping with players, only to find out that they are bad? Frustrated to see the same scammer in the trade channel every day, with the same scam? Some jerk ninja something? Want to warn your friends and other players about these baddies? Download this mod!

This mod allows you to rate players on a scale of  -100 (bad) to 100 (good) using a new option from the popup menu. The ratings can be displayed in the tooltip and/or with their name in the chat window. The mod also joins a channel so you can share your ratings with others. The mod listens for ratings submitted by other players and uses only those ratings from players rated above 0.

/pro  accesses the options menu where you can select how to display ratings and to change the ratings channel that you are in.

This mod is returning to active development. If you have any suggestions please post them here!

    Hi all. I quit WoW a year and a half ago to focus on school. I'm still intellectually interested in this mod but have limited time and no reliable access to WoW to fix the mod. I am willing to add additional authors to this project who are interested in updating the mod.

    Unfortunately my email administrator was blocking notifications from Curse (now fixed) so I did not notice Egingell's comment until just recently.

    First error needs to update ace, so download ace2 and put in the folder, /playerrating/library

    http://www.wowace.com/projects/ace2/

    Second error is an issue with the variable, self.db. Any idea?

    Would be nice to get this fixed (or egingell, get your file or a post the code that you changed). Other addons are just not as good for me.

    I have a working copy. I'm waiting for permission to upload it (assuming the author gets my message, that is).

    I can't test it, though, since, as far as I know, I have the only working copy. I did squash the login errors.

    How about a small note for the reason someone got what rating they did from other players? Also, update for 2.2 soon? :O

    needs to be a way to rate people without having to click them and use a drop down menu

    If there is then it needs to be easier to find

    /pro help maybe?

    Tooltip is there because when someone joins your group, you can quickly see the rating or wait til they chat to see it in chat. When someone whispers you, then the chat window is necessary. Rating bad guildies is good for chat window too. Rating is colored with a number so it is already there, just not colored in the /who list. Hooking in to replace the /who window sounds intriguing but nopefully not break friend list, guild, and raid frames.

    I understand you want some feedback, so here's my honest opinions from my situation:

    - I don't need to be able to give each player 200 different scores, thumbs up or thumbs down is enough - The only place I want to see peoples score is in the /who list - I have since long left General, trade, local defense etc so there is no use whatsoever for me to see ratings in any chat window - I don't understand why one would want to see peoples score in their tooltip, it's not like I physically run over to players I might invite for some instance run - The ideal version of this addon for me would be to simply be able to color people green or red and to see those colors in the /who list (and to be able to share this list with friends and my guild)

    Those things would definitely make me start using this addon but atm I'm sorry to say it's of no use at all to me X(

    Thanks for developing such a tool :-) There are too few rating addons out there!

    I have one suggestion: Add another rating. It would be great to rate the player skill and attitude in different bars. Many times I do not want do rate a nice player good because of bad skill and vice versa.

    I noticed none of my old ratings were imported to the new 2.0 version. What could the proper procedure be to get them back. So far, copying the 'ratings' section from the old savedvariable file to new one, seems to be ok. Not sure how important the faction is, because I just put everyone in alliance for now. Thanks.

    Old: PRDB = { ["Player"] = { ["Ratings"] = {

    New: PlayerRatingDB = { ["realms"] = { ["Turalyon - Alliance"] = { ["Player"] = { ["Ratings"] = {

    Thanks. That clearly shows that they are sharing ratings. And gives me an idea where the error is: Biffsnot's lua doesn't appear to have ["KittyEleven"] = { ["Status"] = { ["Reputation"] = xxx }, .. } and that's why he does not sees a rating when mousing over KittyEleven.

    That record is supposed to be a weighted average of all the people who rated KittyEleven. But if it's not being created, there must be a problem with my update routines.

    This is very helpful input, and I'll get to the bottom of it once I get home tonight. Thanks tons Biffsnot!

    In Yudiths Savedvariables file (along with many other names with 'ttl' next to them too long to post):

    ["Biffsnot"] = { ["Status"] = { ["TTL"] = 95, }, ["TTL"] = { ["Yudith"] = 95, ["Tacua"] = 95, ["Iuviuv"] = 95, ["Thugadin"] = 95, ["Sevilyartoo"] = 95, ["Liolie"] = 95, ["Lightboy"] = 95, ["Folsar"] = 95, ["Britzilla"] = 95, ["Catelyn"] = 95, ["Sakara"] = 95, ["Kaelad"] = 95, ["Xearo"] = 95, ["Dirktumdrum"] = 95, }, ["Ratings"] = { ["Tacua"] = 0.75, ["Yudith"] = 1, ["Iuviuv"] = 0.45, ["Thugadin"] = 0.85, ["Sevilyartoo"] = 0.4, ["Liolie"] = 0.75, ["Sakara"] = 1, ["Kaelad"] = 0.6, ["Britzilla"] = 1, ["Catelyn"] = 0.55, ["Lightboy"] = 0.3, ["Folsar"] = 0.6, ["Xearo"] = -0.1, ["Dirktumdrum"] = 1, }, },

    And in Biffsnots file:

    ["Yudith"] = { ["Status"] = { ["Reputation"] = 0.5737808878726421, }, ["TTL"] = { ["Kittyeleven"] = 95, ["Sakara"] = 95, ["Quinntus"] = 95, ["Lightboy"] = 95, ["Millamber"] = 95, }, ["Ratings"] = { ["Sakara"] = 0.45, ["Lightboy"] = 0.85, ["Kittyeleven"] = 0.55, ["Millamber"] = 0.05, ["Quinntus"] = 0.7, }, },

    Notice they seem to be sharing the list of ratings. Yet it seems to not show up on the tooltips at all for the other player. So if Biffsnot mouse-overs on 'Kittyeleven' he sees no rating.

    BTW these are all just test #'s I put in to see if the mod works, and in no way actually reflects on these players :) Once we get it working ill 0 them out again so it fixes themselves.

    I looked at the code and cannot see a problem with it (although I haven't had anyone on my server help me test the mod since patch 2.0).

    Lets say your accounts are A and B and you're rating player R. When A rates R, you say A shows up in B's database as a player. Does R also show up in B's database as a player? If not, it should, and that's where the bug would be.

    Hello. I seem to have a bit of a problem. I have this installed on 2 computers, with 2 accounts on at the same time. There seems to be NO sharing, at least with the tooltips, at all. I have tried party, raid, and guild with this other toon and the 2 simply do not, over any length of time, share this info. Oddly, tho, if I go into the lua savedvariable file I DO see the list of ratings by the OTHER toon. I see the toons name, then all the ppl on the list, and the ratings. But in game it does not show up in tooltip nor in list of rated ppl. I have tried another ratings mod but I think this one is better because of the tooltip use. Please throw any ideas at me :)
