Zalkalin here. I took over development of this addon, and polished the code a bit and fixed it for WoW 2.0. I've used this addon since I started playing. I love it for its simplicity, and it was pretty easy to fix, so I thought I'd share it.

I thought about converting it to Ace2, but it might be overkill for such a simple addon. If I decide to add features to it later, i might do it though. However, I want to keep this addon really simple, so whatever features I might add are going to be very very simple.

Calculates mob kills needed for next level.

Example :
Let's say, you kill one Yeti, it will show in your chat text: 38 Yeti needed for next level. }}}

Oh, and if "doesn't work" means it doesn't get loaded because of old TOC number, either enable "load out of date addons" or change it yourself, because I can't be arsed to update addons whenever Blizzard decides they need a new interface number.

Please define "doesn't work". Error messages, crashes, goblins coming out of your CD-ROM drive... help me out here.

Someone told me that MobsToLevel isn't working with the latest WoW patch. Can anyone confirm this? I don't play WoW any more, but I have friends who do, so I could abuse their computers for a little while if anything needs fixing.

  • @Calles You just need to download the zip file any where on your PC, then open the zipfile and unpack everything in your Addons Folder looks so

    ...World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns

then hav fun with the Add-On.

btw. that should work for all AddOns. ;-)

Uploaded a bugfix, so MobsToLevel will not print the wrong number if you have rested xp into the next level.

This should have been done a long time ago, but MobsToLevel will now factor in your rested xp when calculating how many mobs you need to level.

    Please report back any problems.

Uploaded new version with updated TOC number.

Maybe this will see some use once more, since we're all grinding again. :)

Hmm... I could do a Fubar addon, but I feel like I'd be duplicating someone elses work, essentially reinventing the wheel. By making a Fubar addon, I'm setting myself up for a flood of user requested features, and eventually I'm going to end up with another XP management monstrosity. I never liked those.

Additionally, I don't think the information provided by this addon is suitable for display on a bar type interface. Knowing that you need to kill another 100 skeletons while you're grinding away in a zone is useful to you there and then. But the number of mobs you need to kill varies with mob type, mob level and zone. Of course, I could keep tabs of the experience points gained by various mobs and so, but that would be overengineering things. Some times it's better to keep things simple.

I don't know about that. I haven't used Titan since Fubar came out. Titan is so 2005. Fubar support it not something I'm looking to add though, and I think I've seen this functionality in some Fubar plugin anyway.

hey great addon.. but a few things: 1: as stated above it would be GREAT to have it in a seperate draggable window 2: can you get the myAddons compatability.. because if you dont want to do number 1 it would be great if we could turn this addon off and on.

Would it be possible to get this message in the error-frame (the one that shows all the "Not in range", etc)? Would like to have this but don't want it flooding my chat window..
