  • About PetLeash
  •

PetLeash automatically walks the dog.

PetLeash ensures that you always have a non-combat pet summoned. It will select a random pet from a list that you choose. It tries its best to not summon a pet while you are busy, and detects quests that would interfere with summoning a normal pet. It also can automatically unsummon a pet when you stealth or go invisible.

As of 1.5, PetLeash now allows you to alter the likelihood of a pet being summoned. Additionally, you can set up certain pets to be summoned in certain locations.

PetLeash also provides a LibDataBroker plugin that you can use to quickly summon specific non-combat pets.

Commands:
/petleash enable : enable/disable auto-summoning
/petleash togglePet : summon or desummon pet (and switch auto-summoning)
/petleash resummon : summon a new pet
/petleash desummon : desummon pet
/petleash config : show configuration

PetLeash has several key bindings that can be set via the Blizzard Key Binding interface.

  • Great addon as always, but I have soooooooooooooooooooooo many pets now that when I go to the 'weighted pets' section, the game locks up for a few seconds. Not the biggest of problems, but if you could perhaps optimize that section, it would be nice.

    I love you 0.0

First I've heard about this thing, and I love it already <3
I always get miffed because I have to summon my pets every time I die, or zone with a loading screen, or fly... this solves everything o.o

    Thankyou! <3

Installed 1.5.6 now and it works fine again. Something is broke in the new version.

My PetLeash is broke as of today. I tried every single command and tested it but it will no longer auto summon after 3 seconds.

And i have the same Pet (Grunty) enabled as before the update.

If you have the Macabre marionette in your bag, it disables automatically the auto-summoning, it's in the options panel ^^

When I use an invisibility potion, my pet is still following me. Could you fix it to detect http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=11392 and http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=3680 ?

Ah, they use a different icon!

I've committed a fix into alpha.

I've been using PetLeash for a few weeks now and it's a pretty cool add-on.
Got to add though, if there was a way for it to determine whether the character is currently sitting on the ground and/or on a chair, it would be nice if you could add that as an option (or maybe two options if there's actually a difference between ground and chair).
Also, similar goes for the character being AFK (or DND as a second option to that).

Additionally, there are a few pets that can fly next to the player, so it'd be kind of cool, if the player is a druid and in flying form, to optionally enable PetLeash to summon one of the flying pets (if there isn't one out already (or if the pet is farther away than a certain distance), since we don't want it to summon a new one every time we fly just a few yards).
(Summoning flying pets for non-druids on a flying mount wouldn't work without them dismounting, sorry. The druids flying form on the other side seems able to pull out any pet and it actually does when the druid's "flying" on ground level (which seems not to be considered riding or flying at all), but sadly not at all when flying. Just a hint.)

I can't really reasonably detect chairs. I could add an afk check however.

You mean if the druid is sitting as a bird? That's the only way it would work.

I'm a hunter, which means that I have hunter pets. What I'd like to have, is the ability to specify a vanity pet that matches my hunter pet, e.g. Worg Pup when I have my Wolf out, Bombay Tabby when I have my cat out and, Hawk Owl when I have my Screecher out.

    Would that be possible?

    It's technically possible.

Hi. Would be cool if we could choose exactly what pet we wanted to be summoned 100% of the time instead of a random minipet. Thanks

Select only one pet for it to summon.

Add on broke with 3.2? It doesn't summon any pets. I've got the latest update. I've got it enabled. I've got the pets chosen. I don't receive an error.

It still works for me. You could try wiping the settings.

Is there an option I can set so that if I dismiss a pet, it will /stay/ dismissed? I've discovered that a flying pet can be a real hassle when I'm in combat because it keeps getting in the way of my mouse clicks when I'm fighting a group and trying to select a specific enemy to attack, and a non-flying pet similarly gets in the way of my mouse when I'm looting corpses after a fight (little buggers always want to stand right on top of the pile of corpses). I've tried to avoid this by dismissing my pet before entering combat, but as soon as I dismiss one pet, PetLeash just automatically summons another one.

How are you dismissing your pet?

Opening the pet window and clicking "Dismiss".
