Reporting Bugs

Feel free to report bugs in the comments section at the bottom of this page, but please don't paste in your bug/crash logs. Those logs are very large since they usually include the list of every addon you're running and that makes the post take a huge amount of screen space in the comments section. That, in turn, makes it very difficult for me to find previous questions and bug reports. Crash dumps are great and extremely useful, but please post them into a CurseForge ticket and then refer to that ticket in your comment so I know where to find it. Thanks!

    Fishing Buddy and Outfitter bug:

G'day, I've had this happened before and could only solve it by restoring my WoW settings from backup. Every time I start WoW a new Fishing Buddy Outfit is created, the fishing script from the old Fishing Buddy outfit is disabled and click to change outfit using the FB broker plugin no longer works.

    A FB or Outfitter bug?

    TIA :-)

  • I have a very strange bug in Outfitter that only happens when I'm in ToC and only when the event is started. I have two scripts, one to automatically change to my heal set when I switch to my secondary talent spec and one to change to my dps spec when I change to my primary talent spec. So, the bug is that when I enter ToC, equip the lance and get on the mount, everything is fine, but as soon as the even starts, Outfitter changes to my fishing set, thus de-equipping the lance and kicking me off the mount. This usually makes for a very tense time as I try to re-equip the lance and get back on a mount. The only way I have found to fix this so far is to disable Outfitter's automatic gear switching before going into ToC. This doesn't happen on my other toons, just my shaman, so it may be a something funky with another addon that's only on my shammie, just not sure. Do you have any ideas?

That is a strange one. The first thing I'd look for is what's causing your fishing gear to equip. Is there a script attached to your fishing outfit? Are you using Fishing Buddy or any other fishing addon? The problem is being caused by whatever is equipping that outfit, which could be an Outfitter script or could be an external addon like Fishing Buddy, so that'd be the area to look first.

Hi all. When I use a trinket while in combat, once out of combat, the Alliance Insignia trinket (from the AV battleground) equips itself. It takes a few tries to re-equip the correct trinket after this automatic change. This is happening in many non-BG zones.

Something is automating your gear - are you using the trinket queue script in Outfitter or maybe a separate addon to queue trinkets? You can also examine the tooltip for the Insignia and see what outfits it's part of, probably one of those is responsible.

So excited about the Pawn values being added... you rock John!

I did find a weird little thing. I ran a Pawn value optimize for both dps and tank on my warrior, and everything equipped correctly, except I had 6 different weapons on me, and it equipped my mining pick for both =P

I don't have any pawn entries for weapon damage, as I base weapon choice off the stat values, not the weapon damage, so perhaps after not finding weapon stats, other stats are bring ignored - thus it takes the weapon with the closest damage value to 0 = the mining pick?

That's really strange! If you mouse over the mining pick does it show a higher Pawn score than other choices? Or maybe they're all zeroes for weapons, I'm not sure.

The algorithm Outfitter uses is pretty simple - it just goes through each slot and each item for each slot and asks Pawn what the score is. Whatever item gets the highest score gets added to the outfit. The weapon slots are a little special because I have to compare 2H to 1H/OH combos so there could be a bug there, I'm not sure.

Mining Pick has a score of 5.3 (prot) and 24.7 (dps), whereas other weapons I'm carrying are in the 800+ range on Pawn scale. It does pick-up the shield for prot, and an off-hand fist weapon for DPS in combo with the Pick though, so the off-hand part seems to be fine.

I tried repro'ing this yesterday on my warrior but didn't have any luck. I'll have to comb through my code and see if I've done something goofy with the main-hand slot handling.

Could you do me a favor and use the Pawn export feature to post one of the problem scales? I could try using that against my warrior's gear and see if it repro's that way.

Yay! That worked - I got the mining pick selected too. I'll work on figuring out why that's happening now :)

Ok, got it worked out. It's a bug in the way I'm handling weapon combos. I've got it fixed now and am planning on a 4.9.1 release after the patch comes out Tuesday (assuming it comes out Tuesday) and the fix will be in that.

Looks like something is getting really wonked in your system. I don't know what would be doing this to you so I can only think of two things to suggest: make sure you didn't try to upgrade while WoW was still running (via /reload) and, if that's not the case, then do an experiment with just Outfitter running and see if that makes any difference.

    Reply Report Permalink

Nah, it wasn't just a /reload. I spent some more time on this today since I was still having the same problem. (In fact, it looks like the same problems I was having when I was trying out previous Outfitter betas, too... I've been using an old release version for months.) After disabling all other addons on one character, I verified that it didn't happen with just Outfitter running. After reeneabling everything again... it still no longer reproed. (whaa?) Outfitter is working fine on all of my characters now without any changes to my Interface\AddOns folder or restarting the game. Maybe one of my other addons was interfering with some sort of upgrade process to my ancient saved variables, and once that was done, all was well?

Sigh. I like to call those "Heisenbugs." Thanks. :)
