  • About myMusic 1.8b3 (2007-June-1)
  •

myMusic is an in-game MP3-player that enables the user to play MP3-files from their harddrives. Sadly Blizzard's WoW engine only supports WAV and MP3 files, so myMusic doesn't support any other file formats.

Features:

The ability to play MP3 files inside WoW. The player is GUI based, with a playlist and controls. GUI based options panel (/myMusic options). myAddOns support. Titan Panel support. Localizied for german and french clients. A minimap button with the ability to control the player: play/next/previous/stop/etc. + toggle player and options panel. A function to post the currently playing song in a chat channel. This can be done auto on song changes. (Use <mp3> in the message to get the currently playing song) Commands:

/myMusic open | close | toggle | options | post | play | stop | next | previous How to use myMusic:

Unzip myMusic to your addon folder ('\WoW\Interface\AddOns'). Copy your MP3-files to '\WoW\Interface\AddOns\myMusic\mp3'. If you don't copy your MP3-files WoW cannot find your files. This unless you know how to use the junction method (on NTFS formatted harddrives). Then I recommend the application Junction Link Magic. Generate a playlist, with playlistmaker.exe or FireFox's myMPCW (*RECOMMENDED*). Start the game, open myMusic and click the 'Import' button, if your songs doesn't show up. READ THIS:

"Enable music" needs to be checked in the WoW sound options. "Loop music" should be un-checked in the WoW sound options for best results. Other addons like "Soundtrack" and "Mortal Combat Sound" can interrupt "myMusic". playlistmaker.exe, made by Affenmann, is buggy and outdated. It's a DOS app. FireFox2k, at Curse-Gaming, has made a lot better, GUI based, playlist generator, together with feedback from me. It's written in C# and requires .NET 2.0 (from Microsoft) to work.

this is sibor's mod updated to work with the 2.0 patch and slight Lua 5.1 changes.

I installed it and did the playlist. It showed the songs as I expected, but the music doesn't play even tho it said it's playing. All I can hear is WoW's default music.

    Any suggestions?

I installed the add-on, moved the music I wanted into the folder, and created a .m3u playlist using winamp. I am unable to use the playlits provided because I cant update my .net framework to version 2.0. I also tried using a .pls playlist extension but I still got the same thing. When I start up my music in wow, I see two "songs" one called mymusic and the other is random numbers with an underscore in the middle. How do I fix this? Is there a different file extetion for the playlist that I dont know about. What other programs could I use to make a playlist?

    Hi Aqiruse!

I am using this great addon for a really long time and I was so happy when I saw, that you changed it for 2.0! Thanks for that. But now I have a little problem (I hope that it is a "little" one). I installed the Addon as usual, installed the playlist-maker, used the playlist-maker and started WoW. And now the problem: I can see my playlist ingame, I am able to push the play-button, mymusic shows me, that it is playing the song selected BUT: No Music shows.... I certainly checked the sound-options, but everything there was selected. I listened to my speakers and heared the WoW-music, sound-fxs, character-speakings and everything else. But no Music from my playlist. My wave-options of my soundcard are pushed to the max, too. Please, tell me what am I doing wrong. I can´t play this game without your great addon. Thanks for your help!

@necro: You can either go to the Other tab located on this page, go to http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files/downloads/21711/ which is the mympcw file only or download http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files/downloads/22283/ which will contain the mympcw in its own subdirectory.

@aanadien & jaw: There could be two reasons why you dont have music in wow. The most common would be that music is not enabled. Go to Sound Options and make sure that Enable Music has a check mark next to it. Also make sure the Music Volume is turned up to a decent level. The second problem could be that Wave volume is not turned up in your system volume properties or perhaps is muted. This of course would mean that you do not hear any music from WOW or Windows Media Player or anything. If that is the case, open the Volume Properties, and make sure there is no check mark next to Mute under Wave/MP3 also make sure the Volume is turned to a decent level. After those two things are taken care of you should have music in WOW. You may need to restart WOW before you hear anything, but most likely you will hear music right away.
