  • About Mendeleev
  •

Mendeleev is best known for his work on the periodic table; arranging the 63 known elements into a Periodic Table based on atomic mass, which he published in Principles of Chemistry in 1869. Dmitri Mendeleev was born at Tobolsk, Siberia in 1834 and died in 1907.

Mendeleev adds all kinds of information on top of the information provided by Blizzard to almost all item tooltips.

Install LibPeriodicTable as its own separate addon; T9 and other newer stuff is already in there.

  • This description isn't very descriptive. What kind of info? And why no screens to show what it looks like when whatever is added to the tooltip is added?

wowui is also blocking wow matrix so no luck for you here either. Just give up already. It's clear that you are not mentally capable enough to play wow and should play something less taxing on your limited capacity.

Well said BWMerlin, this guy has to be mentally retarded. WowMatrix rips off addons by editing the scripts to remove the author's credit and donation requests. They also steal bandwidth from all these other sites by having their users leech directly off Curse for the majority of the addons (the unedited ones), while displaying their own WowMatrix ads in their client, that amounts to a 100% cost for curse and 100% gain for wowmatrix. They're one hundred percent assholes. How can people NOT understand this? Stop the effin Wowmatrix whine, you bunch of babies. When Wowmatrix was blocked, Curse bandwidth costs decreased 30%.

Also, I laughed at the fact that you said "Due to Curse not caring about the impact their last decision would have on their users, I am moving away from using Curse.", and when I checked it turns out you have made exactly ZERO addons. Hilarious.

I agree totally. All this talk about bandwith stealing, leeching, editing scripts is just more excuses for people to act stupid. In all this the gamer is lost. Addons are suppose to be created for the users not for your own glory. For the love of the game. Also last time I checked when I use Wowmatrix it asks me if I would like to donate to said addon and provides a link for that purpose. And yes I donate....before you start on that topic. I am sure they could have found a better way of working things out other than blocking users from enjoying the game in a timely fashion. BAH!!!

I don't see any mention of WoWmatrix in doncorneos post.
Furthermore there ist no mention of him creating addons himself.
Stop being silly on the internet BWMerlin and Yewbacca, and read and reply carefully. Maybe use your brain a little, for starters.

While not being a supporter of WoWmatrixs policy of trying to make money from free software by writing a (and I'm sorry, but this must be said: lean and clean) client which curse failed to create for a silly amount of time, and also not being a supporter of curses bloated client, I must say blocking all access for WoWmatrix users on patchday while not having a decent client themselves was a PR desaster.
Additionally Mac support was and is a desaster.
As a side note: "When Wowmatrix was blocked, Curses bandwidth" . . . absolutely collapsed on patchday, for everyone went to update their addons via curses webinterface, which curse was totally not expecting.
"the impact of their last decision" is something you should think about for a few minutes... objectively, if you're able to.

Is there any plans on adding the skilllevel required by the recipie in the "Used in" part ?
I don't need to know that the recipie needs 4 of something, but it would be very nice to know the skillvl. (Good to know when pricing on AH and keeping track for my millions of alts)

also, maybe an option to stop it showing "used in: Item:XXXXXXX", it doesnt tell me much except that my cache is bad ;)

ps. they didnt teach me polite english in school so sorry if some of my phrasings are rude :P

Will there be a future feature or anyone know a mod that can show where does an epic drop from (which boss) by hovering over the item?

that should have been included in 237; they do show for me although I use a more recent version.

    Reply Report Permalink
  • Alrighty, I tried that revision, and still a couple things.

First off, it still doesn't remember the used in tree. I'd still like that feature. Is there a reason it's intentionally not included?

Secondly, the 'unknown' category of tradeskills I don't even have was confusing at first. I was looking at my iron bar and I'm like, no, I can't turn an iron bar into a gold one. But when I saw Medium Leather saying it could turn into Heavy Leather, I realize that it's referencing other tradeskills.

I like that Ore references mining and Engineering both when determining something I can make, but I'd rather it not show a used-in tree for professions I don't have? I'd like to be able to remove 'unknown' from the list in other words. The option of 'limit used tree to craftable' seems to be missing.

Also, I'm seeing a lot of '...' in the used in tree, I'd rather those just be hidden completely and not show up at all, to take up less space.

And lastly, icons in the used tree still aren't working.

Thanks for all the work to fix that bug and stuff. Much appreciated. ^_^

Mendeleev is using PT3.1 as database and there is no info which tradeskill it is that would be used to process one item into another. That's why you see the iron to gold stuff and such.

Caching the data over sessions isn't that trivial as it seems, especialy the way the data storage used by Mendeleev currently works.

"only craftable" was removed when I added the new dropdown filter since all it did was limit it to at least gray. So the functionality is still in. And the colored dots are just to show there's more.

and for the icons, I messed up some brackets ^^' should be fixed in the next push.

    Reply Report Permalink
  • If the addon can detect that something is unknown in order to display it as red, could it not then simply not display that which is red?

I understand that the colored dots are to show there's more, but I don't need to know that. =P I wanted them filtered out completely, not reduced down to dots.

I don't mean to be demanding. If you don't want to put in these options, that's fine. I'll deal with it, or possibly switch to another addon. I'm just making the request.

If it doesn't save between sessions, is there a way for it to open all tradeskills and get that data at the start of every session?
