The size op mappy is way too large now, according to the documentation I can reset it with /mappy default but then WoW answers with [ERROR][Mappy]Expected command? Also use the 'size' configuration doesn't work either. Any other suggestions?

  • I like this, it's just want it to be a circle. Can you make it a circle in addition to a square?

  • Right-click on the map and make sure the "lock" option isn't selected. If right-click doens't work then the map is in "ghost" mode (clicks are passed through as if it isn't there), so use

    /mappy unghost

    to make it clickable, and

    /mappy ghost

to return it to pass-through mode again

  • ok. sorry maybe i wasnt clear. as u can see in the pick withthe tauren, the map and the name of the area above the map r clearly visable, where in the pic with the belf the mapp is a bit to the right under the buttons and up a bit more so the name of the area is under my FuBar. is there anyway to move the map, not just change the size???

  • It would be swell if you put the option to collapse the map in.

  • I'd never used that feature in the Blizz minimap so hadn't considered it, but I'll keep it in mind. The hard part will be figuring out what would be left behind after collapsing. The Blizzard minimap has that title bar area to anchor the map to, but Mappy is much more minimal and doesn't include any elements like that.

Call me crazy but I can't find how to remove the time on the bottom of the map. Did I miss something ? If someone could tell me how, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • That's part of WoW and the option is somewhere in the WoW prefs or maybe in the stopwatch prefs, I forget which.

  • Greetings

    I love mappy, great addon.

Recently though I have a problem with only one character. The minimap and all buttons are missing.

I get an error saying: addons\mappy\mappy.lua line 310: attempt to perform arithmetric on a nil value

Mappy works perfectly on my other two characters

    Any thoughts?

    I tried: /Mappy normal
    Nothing happens

  • No idea really, but it appears that Mappy didn't finish initializing on that character. Are there any errors being produced during login. They'd be in your chat window, or maybe a hidden error window, or maybe in WoW's Logs folder in the file named FrameXML.log. If you don't run an error-reporting addon like Swatter, try turning on the 'show errors' option in WoW's Help options.

  • I should mention, to clear Mappy on just one character log into that character and do this:

    /run gMappy_Settings = nil

    and then

    /reload

    hi
i use mappy to change my minimap position to a central-low position... but when im on a vehicle (wintergrasp) or have item dirability low (that armor icon) the images of those (the vehicle and the armor) shows off the screen...
i would like to know if anyone knows how can move those images to another place and keep my miniap where i want (i dont know if mappy can do it as well so thats why im asking it here)
    Thx on advice

  • I decided not to make Mappy into a general UI-customization tool but there are addons which can be used to reposition those other UI elements. You may want to try MoveAnything or other similar addons for rearranging those pieces.

  • Dragemall also works well for moving anything that moveanything doesn't.

small one, on some of my toons all minimap icons are arranged correctly by mappy. on some others not. i.e. button of bartender4 and ct-core. they can be placed free somewhere on the minimap and i do not find anything which could affect this.

    any idea?

  • I'll have to look at those two to find out why Mappy doesn't identify them. The way I designed it, it looks for frames which are about the size of a minimap button attached to the map, but those may be attached in an unusual way or may be an unusual size which is causing Mappy to miss them.

Awsome Addon I must say, one of the few I can't play without.
Though have been getting some trouble with it, not sure if its just mine or if its intended.
But sometimes my Herb Nodes on the Minimap turn Blue instead of the normal Yellow. Anyway to fix this?

    Reply Report Permalink
  • The way those nodes work is that Blizzard has a single texture (image) with each dot color on it. They select one of the dots from the texture based on what it is (pets, demons, fishing nodes, mote clouds, herbs, etc.). To make the nodes flash and to make them larger I replace that texture with my own with larger and differently-colored versions. I'll have to check to see if Blizzard moved the dots around in the texture, since if they did my own version of the blip texture will need updated.
