  • About Loot Hog
  •

LootHog detects and tracks rolls which are made with '/random' or '/roll' and sorts them, allowing raid leaders to announce roll winners quickly and easily.

Features/Options:

  • Automatically show window when someone rolls (optional)
  • Announce configured settings and rules to party/raid
  • Configurable timer: Starts when the first roll is detected (or Loothog Started manually).
  • Announce that new roll has started, and announce the time players have to roll.
  • Announce Offspec roll if no winners for the inital roll. Separately configured timeout and Announcement.
  • Prevent /random rolls from appearing in the chatlog
  • Acknowledge rolls via /whisper to roller
  • Count rolls from group members only or entire raid
  • Reject rolls with bounds other than those configured
  • Reject multiple rolls
  • Ability to "Hold" timer. After releasing the timer, timer will restart from where it left off.
    - OR if AutoExtend is turned on, it will restart from configured time if timer is lower.
  • Countdown - Manually activated or can start in the last few seconds of timer (configurable)
  • AutoExtend if roll is detected in the last few seconds of timer (configurable)
  • Finalize rolling and announce winner after configurable timer expires
  • Finalize rolling when all group members have rolled
  • Announce the group of the winner (Raid)
  • Submit complete list of rolls to chat when announcing
  • Deactivate LootHog if someone else announces (using Loothog)
  • Close LootHog window after announcing a winner
  • MyAddon - Support
  • Support for "Offspec" roll boundaries
  • One click "Off" button

Question before I try to raid with it:
when we check "one epic per person" do offspec rolls still count?

Hi, I believe this addon doesnt work for russian client (the LootHog doesnt recognize rolls as rolls)
Is there any way a can make it work?

    Thnx in advance.

  • Unfortunately at this time you are quite right, the addon won't work for the russian client.

You can open the file localization_ruRU.lua in your favorite text editor and translate the english text to Russian.

The text that you will need to translate is inside the quotes on the right hand side of the equals sign.

    For example LOOTHOG_TITLE = "Loothog " .. loothog_version
    should be LOOTHOG_TITLE = "{Russian Translation}" .. loothog_version

Do this for all lines and it should work.

Also if you send me the file after you are done, I can include it in future updates.

  • Hi there...have a small request for rolls. Could you add the option to list the person's rank (if in your guild)? My guild distributes loot based on rank (which is based on your attendence) and it is a pain in the butt to keep looking up who trumped who's roll due to rank.

    Something like:
    Player (Initiate) 99
    Player (Veteran) 56

With our loot system, the 2nd roll would win. With someone outside of the guild, leaving the name blank would be just fine like:

    Player 88
    Player (Initiate) 99
    Player (Veteran) 56

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

I will have a look into this, the problem that I see is that there is very limited room in the roll window and I do not wish to make the window larger. I will see what I can do.

  • Excellent idea, I support this idea if the author has time to try it.

Make a simpler loot system, or deal with it, IMO.

For the record, I just tested the changes in a raid situation and everything worked as I expected it to. To summarize, here is what I changed:

    1) Ability to set lower and upper bounds for offsets
    2) Prioritizes mainspec rolls over offpec regardless of what was rolled for offspec. For example, offspec rolls 50 (1-50) and mainspec rolls 1 (1-100), mainspec roll wins.
    3) Added wording to the necessary places that indicate that a particular roll was an offspec roll (the final chat text, acknowledgements, and in the main window).

Btw, I just added offspec roll limits to the configuration window. You can set the lower and upper limits.

I just finished testing my change. I don't know if other servers work this way, but on our server, a main set roll always takes precedence over an offset roll regardless. There seemed to be an issue here which I fixed. I tested several times and it now works as (I think) it was intended.

  • Please note that the addon was created this way and is working. If it was not working for you then it is due to the changes you have made that have broken this functionality.

I have some changes I'd like to have incorporated into this add on. Essentially, I made changes to the offspec rolls. On our server, offspec rolls are generally 1-50 with mainspec being 1-100. I modified the boundary conditions for this and made the appropriate changes. I'm still testing this, but I'd like to know if the author would like me to email the changes to him, and if so, where I can email them to (he can feel free to diff them against his source and I've commented every change I made with a searchable tag). Thanks.

The count down is still broken with low frame-rate.
The fix I posted still works fine tho.

    Reply Report Permalink
  • The issue I have with your fix is it will use more memory as it is updating and runs through the addon more often and therefore contribute to a lower frame rate. It is this reason that I don't want to implement it into the release. Those that have a low frame rate may want to use it however.

    More memory?
The my code for that only gets executed every 1/2 sec.
Assuming you get 30fps, yours will get executed every 1/3 sec.

Unless you are running lower than 20fps, mine will use less resources.

  • Yeah you are right, my apologies, I was reading the code wrong. Going crosseyed looking at code after all the changes I've needed to do for addons I use that haven't been updated since 3.2.

I'll have another think about this, maybe put up a poll. The changes I made allows you to increase the refresh interval if you are getting high FPS. As you said if you are getting less than 20 FPS your code will use more, and the countdown works fine (in my testing) for anything above 10 FPS, and again why would you want to play with less than 10 FPS anyway?

    Ahhh... Decisions Decisions.
