  • About LionHeartUI
  •

LionHeartUI is a compilation of .blp files from the World of Warcraft Addon Development Kit that have been customized to give the UI a unique look and feel.

The .blp files are located in various folders that All NEED to be installed into the World of Warcraft\Interface folder instead of the World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons folder.

This compilation was meant to be used with both LionHeartBar and GryphonSoulBar.

If you could help me out by donating any amount, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is how I got the addOn to work. Manual download - save file - right click .zip lionheartui and click "extract all" - unzip wizard should show and when it asks you were to extract files to "C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Interface" - all the files within should be in the interface folder. Not just "Addons" and "LionheartUI" should be there, it should be "Addons" and many other folders that were inside the .zip lionheart folder.

The folders containing the .blp files Need to be installed into the Interface folder, not the Addon folder. I believe curse client does not support this type of installation.

This certain interface compilations was my first one and was based off the 3.1 interface. not the new 3.2, so there my be display issues that arrise, such as the quest frame being changed.

I havent had time to update and continue this projects or any of my projects for that matter, because I have been busy with college. Plus my new found interest of model editing, which has taken away from my time spent on addon development.

this particular "addon" technically isnt one. because it contains no .toc, xml or lua files. It only contains folders housing various .blp images.

these images can be found inside the .mpq files, which have there own file paths. by placing the folders inside the Interface folder you create a physical file path, instead of the one the mpq file ghosts. So in other words, you are making a hard copy of part of wow on your harddrive as if the .mpq files did nto exsist and it all ran from the wow file directory.

I hope that makes some sense. I know i didnt do a good job at explaining it.

Hopefully once my C++ and VB classes are over, ill have more time to continue this project.

First go to the wow folder , then go to interface > addOns > LionHeartUI >
    LionHeartUI.toc > change first line into # interface 30200

I wont be able to work on the wotlk blue layout until after the 27th. In the meantime, please check for any display issues, where certain frames arent colored or the color doesnt match up well. -J-

I like it thanks man. Nice change to the default.
When can we expect more colours or can you advise us on how to change the colours ourselves??

In order to change the colors yourself, you would have to convert ALL the .blp files to png format to edit. Then use a photo editing program such as paint.net to change the coloring to whatever you want. then convert the png back to .blp. To do all the images it took me about two weeks to do.

The next pack I will have will be similar to the launcher color of dark blue. I hope to have that done within the next few weeks, but I have no set date on when it will be availiable. I might call it GryphonSoulUI and change GryphonSoulBar to match it.

i like it so far just hope in the future it will have a simple to use ui config. So that people could choose from multiple art packs and or have the option to make art packs for this addon.

All the files for this are from Blizzard in their Addon Development Kit they offer. So anyone can change those images and create there own art.

In addition the Addon Development Kit provides you with the code that Blizzard uses for its UI, which contains both Lua and XML that calls upon the art in the Interface folder. If that art is not there then it uses its own. So it seems to be almost impossible to create an addon able to switch between certain art sets.

Although if there is a way to create an addon that changes all Interface\WhateverFrame\UI-SomeImage.blp to something like Interface2\WhateverFrame\UI-SomeImage.blp then it might be possible.

I will research this and if it is possible include it in both this art set and my next UI release.

Thank you for the suggestions, -J-

If you are going to comment on my UI then please be more constructive in a post. "Who did a pee pee on my UI ? =(" is not constructive.

The color I used was the closest and easiest form of a gold color I could use.
If you dont like this color, just wait, because I will be making one that is dark blue like the launcher. I'd suggest waiting for that release instead of making ignorant, immature, and pointless comments. -J-
