First of all, great addon, but i have an issue with it, and so does a mate.
in the latest version, if i "/ignore Somemoron spammer" it outputs in chat:
IgnoreMore: "Somemoron spammer" does not look like a valid player name

its not splitting the reason from the name like the older versions did (one i was using before is r54638 and it worked fine.

looks like im a moron, didnt realise the command had been changed to use a : to seperate the name from the reason.

but i also just tried that and it dosent work either.

    say if i use "/ignore Somemoron:spammer" or "/ignore Somemoron : spammer"
    it outputs IgnoreMore: "Somemoron"

which says to me its splitting the name from the reason, but still erroring on it.

Could you make it so it tells the player is ignored?

  • I have a question about this...When they whisper you what do they see?

does it say "PlayName" is ignoring you? or what

Addon is not working since 3.2!! : (

Yes it does. Now try some basic troubleshooting to see what makes it not work for you in your setup. Like disabling addons until it starts working, and finding out which addon is conflicting. It's likely to be a misbehaving chat-related addon.

It's may be working, but it's out of date : (

Don't know what in 3.2 make this warning, but may be you make little update or something. I hope it's little to do.

I am afraid to turn on "load out of date add-ons" checkbox.

    Thank you.

Only works if you have "load out of date add-ons" checkbox selected in the add-ons list, but does seem to function fine under 3.2 so a new release with an updated ToC is probably in order.

Very useful add-on. Have never understood why the Blizzard UI wouldn't let you put a note here.

The spaces in realm name issue has been fixed. You now use a colon to set notes on the command line:

    /ignore player : note here
    /ignore Player-Realm Name : note here

Has the issue with players in battlegrounds from other realms been addressed? I used to try to ignore people like "Name-Realm Name" and it would not work as it thought "Name" was a comment. At least I think thats what the problem was, its been awhile. If it has been addressed, is there a way to use special marks such as " or ' or something.. to allow "'Name-Realm Name' " ?

Wonderful addon btw, have been using it for years and have pages of ignores. :)

Just tested it out with a friend, he pm'd me while on ignore and his message went through (on his end) and didn't say the "This person is ignoring you" line, that normally comes up. However, I didn't get his message... So is this being 'fixed', or is it meant to be like that?

Also, the comments on the right side of the Ignore list are endlessly buggered up; When I scroll down, the notes don't move. Ie if I made a note for PlayerA, then scrolled down a page, that same note would stay at the top (PlayerJ, or whatever is at the top), is that another mod messing with IgnoreMore, or is IM just messed up?

Ignore the second part of this post, it was CT Core that was messing it up; The messages were being saved via that mod, then scrolling with this one, which led to the confusion.

For anyone that didn't know, double clicking the person's name on your ignore list allows you to alter their note, so you can remember when and/or why you ignored them. :)

Idea of the addon is great but I still don't understand it's logic. Ignored people can still talk to me and invite me to their little parties. What part of that is 'ignoring'? When I ignore people, I don't want to hear from them again.

But anyway, the addon at least serves as a list of people I don't like where I can write I note of them. That way I can at least check the list from bad people and why I ignored them long ago.
