  • About Hear Kitty
  •

Hear Kitty, designed for rogues and druids, plays soothing but distinct orchestral sounds when you gain and spend combo points It's like having your own theme music! You won't have to watch for red combo dots; when you hear the final note played, you'll know it's time for a finishing move.

  • I like this add-on so far, though more options (like changing certain sounds, not fond of the finisher one) would be good. Was this by any chance inspired by the orchestra hits on attacks in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? It feels exactly like that to me... If only someone could get the same music and chimes to play, it would be perfect.

I'll get around to adding new sounds and customizability someday; I'm not sure exactly when. I haven't played any of the Zelda games, though.

It doesn't seem to be working in 3.3.2

You probably need to re-check the option to enable out-of-date addons. If that's checked, double-check the Hear Kitty options in Interface Options. Nothing changed with 3.3.2 to break Hear Kitty.

Great idea however it can get rather annoynig when it does tones after EVERY fight, when the fight is over it makes an annoying "bom bom bom!" noise, I personally hate that. Nice idea but until thats fixed its just not for me.

That's good feedback. I like hearing the "all combo points gone" sound effect at the end of a battle, but I'll look into the possibility of having a different sound there, and perhaps making it optional.

Great add on... Though lately i have noticed it poping up on my other toons other than my DK's. Mind fixing that so it is DK only and i dont need to turn it off and on.

Generally speaking I notice HearKitty losing the settings quite often when I access the addon settings menu for some other addon, I think it has to be somehow related to that

For some reason, every now and then when I log in the settings will reset themselves or change from what I previously had. Any clue as to what is happening? Other than that...awesome add-on. Helps a bunch!

On the character select screen, click AddOns in the lower-left. This checkbox is in the upper-right corner of the AddOns window that pops up.

I'm not aware of any issues with Hear Kitty on patch 3.2. What issues are you seeing? It should run just fine if you check the box to load out-of-date addons.

i'm just not hearing the usual combo point sounds. I'll recheck my setting and such. are you a musician? i'm wondering where you got your inspiration for this nifty addon?

Hmmm. Check the Hear Kitty options in Interface Options. I've noticed a couple times in my life that Hear Kitty has mysteriously turned itself off, which baffles me. Maybe the same thing has happened to you.

I'm not really a musician; I just hum a lot. I really like audio cues in general, and I wanted an easy way to tell how many combo points I had on my druid when I started trying out feral. I made the sounds myself from a library of instrument noises from Adobe; I spent more time fine-tuning those than writing the entire first version of the mod. :)

It was the mysterious self turn off -- I turned it on and it's working now. Thanks again, for this very helpful addon!

Is there any way I could adjust the volume to make the sounds louder?
