Great add on... Though lately i have noticed it poping up on my other toons other than my DK's. Mind fixing that so it is DK only and i dont need to turn it off and on.

Generally speaking I notice HearKitty losing the settings quite often when I access the addon settings menu for some other addon, I think it has to be somehow related to that

For some reason, every now and then when I log in the settings will reset themselves or change from what I previously had. Any clue as to what is happening? Other than that...awesome add-on. Helps a bunch!

On the character select screen, click AddOns in the lower-left. This checkbox is in the upper-right corner of the AddOns window that pops up.

I'm not aware of any issues with Hear Kitty on patch 3.2. What issues are you seeing? It should run just fine if you check the box to load out-of-date addons.

i'm just not hearing the usual combo point sounds. I'll recheck my setting and such. are you a musician? i'm wondering where you got your inspiration for this nifty addon?

Hmmm. Check the Hear Kitty options in Interface Options. I've noticed a couple times in my life that Hear Kitty has mysteriously turned itself off, which baffles me. Maybe the same thing has happened to you.

I'm not really a musician; I just hum a lot. I really like audio cues in general, and I wanted an easy way to tell how many combo points I had on my druid when I started trying out feral. I made the sounds myself from a library of instrument noises from Adobe; I spent more time fine-tuning those than writing the entire first version of the mod. :)

It was the mysterious self turn off -- I turned it on and it's working now. Thanks again, for this very helpful addon!

  • Is there any way I could adjust the volume to make the sounds louder?

The volume of Hear Kitty's sounds is controlled by the Master Volume setting on the Sound options screen. You can raise or lower the volume of other game sounds to make Hear Kitty's sound quieter or louder (relatively speaking), depending on your preference. In your case, turn down Sounds and Music after turning up Master Volume.

Unfortunately, Blizzard doesn't offer any better controls for addon developers, so that's the best I can give you.

I'm looking for an addon for feral druid that would make a sound when my pounce was within range. That way I could focus on the mob and not have to look down at the pounce button when creeping forward. Does this addon do this? If not would it be possible to add it. Thanks

Hmm, no, Hear Kitty doesn't do anything like that. It's an interesting idea, though.

I would love to be able to select my own sound to be played, is this something that can be done?

You can replace the MP3s in the Hear Kitty mod folder with your own. In the future I'd like to make it possible to install and create additional sound packs and then choose between them, but for now, you just need to replace the MP3s. Of course, I do not recommend using the entirety of 50 Cent's opus "In da Club" as one of your sound effects; stick to very short ones.

I've posted Hear Kitty 1.1.3, which adds support for playing sounds on shaman Maelstrom Weapon charges as if they were combo points, and also an option to only play a sound when your combo points hit 5 (not for 1-4).

(Guess what I chose for my dual spec...)
