  • About GTFO
  •

This addon will provide an audible alert when you're standing in something you're not supposed to be standing in. It's particularly useful for individuals that play with their spell graphics turned down or for those that just need a little extra help being told to GTFO. It also helps out with PvP when you can't tell who's casting the AOE.

I have tuned this addon for WotLK raids, some old BC raids, and PvP.

The mod is currently English only, but may work in a limited fashion on foreign clients.

This is my first public mod. Feedback is welcome!

New debuff detection added!

One of the best mods ever. This is GREAT and has saved my butt so many times!

As a healer, I wish EVERYONE had this addon.

Hello, just discoverd this nifty addon, question, would it be possible to add soo that the addon sounds even if we have our sound turned off, Npcscan offers the same option, mostly for us players that doesn't play with sounds..

I looked at the code for NPCScan. The author is doing something very clever...to override the sound being off, he "unmutes" the game to play his sound file and then quickly mutes it again. I'll experiment a little bit with this, but I suspect the result won't be as pleasant muting and unmuting during a battle vs. flying around or idling looking for a rare mob.

In the meantime, if you turn off all sound options EXCEPT the master volume, this mod should work properly because it doesn't use Blizzard's standard game sounds.

Hey - like the mod nice and simple but am unable to set the sound to the buzzer. I prefer the buzzer as it is so different to other sounds. Can this be set by user??

Hi Zen, I still enjoy it. It is not the volume but the tune. I like the Buzzer sound for all damage [can't mistake it amongst other sounds] This is only a personal choice, so if it cant be done thats ok

I understand now. I'll see what I can do about making a sound selector.

Do you mean set the sound as in set the volume or set the low damage sound to use the buzzer?

Awesome addon! Saved my mage-life a couple of times already. It works so great (in TotC) and i recommend it to everyone. Just wanted to say this to the programmer and keep up the good work.

ps. its a blessing for healers too my healer says (little RP here hehe). Saves a lot of mana!

Hey, just an idea, i play rogue and it does my head when a pally casts bubble and you get spammed immune immune immune, by the time you realise ( speed of 0.7 SnD ) youve already put in 10 hits and totally wasted your time, is there any way when you land a hit on a bubbled pally you could get GTFO!
    :D

    Thanks, leme know yeah

I actually recommend using Power Auras for that one. You can set it so it shows a big symbol on the screen if your target has the Divine Shield buff. You can also have it display a big timer where ever you want on the screen to show you when the buff will disappear if it's not displayed so you can time your attacks just right.

I look forward to trying this out once you have changed the effect to work from damage taken to buffs / debuffs

Do you mean making an audible alert when you're taking generic debuff damage such as from a warlock's curse? I would think that would get very annoying.

I think he meant the buff/debuff you get upon entering an area - take Koralon for example, you get the ciner debuff as soon as you are standing in the area but it takes a few seconds before you first take damage.

If you could set the alert to go off based on the buff/debuff, then it could save you a couple of seconds which can be vital during a raid.. after all, by the time you take damage it might already be too late.

Is there a specific reason why you've made it to wait until you take damage rather than when you're actually in the debuff area?

I found that certain fights don't actually show a debuff area at all. PvP spells appear to do this just fine (i.e. Hurricane), but will also do this for friendly-fire as well. The way the mod is written now, because you don't take damage from friendly-fire, it won't sound an alarm. Annoyingly, the leaving debuff area is server based, so if you have latency, when you run out of the debuff area, your client will show you're in the debuff.

However, some PvE encounters don't even have this (i.e. Razorscale's Devouring Flame), so monitoring auras is useless here.

Because the spell IDs are easily captured from WoWHead. I'm going to have to take more time and comb through some combat logs so I can track the necessary auras down if they even exist.
