  • About Gryphonheart Reputation
  •

The Gryphonheart Reputation addon adds user made factions to the game. Officers can reward reputation to other players who haves the addon. All users is able to flag themself as a member of one of the factions. This is intented for roleplaying use and have been made for the Gryphonheart RP project on the Sha'tar. However it can be used by others aswell.

An example of use to RP could be the following.

1) X creates his character and joins the server. The addon register that there have been set factions up on this server and adds them to his reputation box.
2) X thinks about what his character should do and he let his character join the townsfolk.
3) The leader of the townsfolks gives X a friendly reputation with the townsfolk and maybe lower is reputation with the senate (e.g. they maybe dont like eachother).
4) X encounters some RP with some of the tradesmen and after some trades he gets a good standing with some of them. One of the trade leaders gives him a higher standing with them.
5) X helps the redeemers by catching a theif. The redeemers raises X reputation with them and lowers his reputation with the underworld.

On the Sha'tar there have allready been set up a project, however if anyone want to set up their own project, then they should do that with the following slash command: /ghr newproject x where x is the name of the new project.

In RP user over longer time then it is important that the officers does not create inflation in the reputation (this is mainly to the GH officers). Try and look at the exsisting game factions and determine how easy or hard it should be to get rep with each faction.

  • I can't seem to get the 'Choose Faction' dropdown box to work, for some reason. Perhaps it's a bug.

The interface option from memory is in the reputation panel

there is no set GUI like other addons more like just click options to add factions and so forth

then the factions appear in ur normal reputations window of ur character

  • I know this probably isn't the spot to post this. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an english version of the roleplay mission editor yet? I was looking to add all these to my guild so we have something else to do besides the normal hack and slash questing.

I know very little of the progress of RME myself. I have planned to make a quest addon myself, but I have downpriotised it while seeing that RME is being made. However after some requests I am concidering making it anyway.

One of my characters on The Venture Co. isn't getting the interface up, but other characters on other realms are. When I click the addon button on the character select screen the tick is gray and it says 'This addon is only enabled for some characters.' Tried clicking so it's gold, like the rest of the addons, go on my character, and it gos back to gray. Know what's wrong?

Very cool, and the guy making Roleplay Mission Editor seems very willing to integrate RME with your add-on too.

  • Okay...I haven't gotten a chance to play with this all yet, but WOW! I'm going to be implementing this for my guild, since there are a few secret factions, etc. that I want to put into the game. This is just so neat, though. I'm really impressed. Quick question, though--if I wanted people outside of my guild to join the project, how could I do that? That may seem like a dumb question, but...*shrugs* Also, can there only be one project on a server, or more than one?

Hey. I am glad to hear your positive featback. Currently the addon is working in a way where people with the addon will see if other players got a project, each time they seen anyone of them speaking. When they discover someone with a project, then they join it. In that way there can be more than one project on each server, but it can be a bit random wich one a person joins first.

For the 1.0 version I plan to implement (amoung other things) an ability to invite people into your project. In that way it will be easier to have several projects on each server. I expect to have the 1.0 done just around newyear.

  • Looks cool, but i still haven't found out how to work this. Can I have some instructions for how do set up stuff?

You can set up your own project by typing /ghr newproject x where x is the name of the new project. After that it should be rather easy to add factions etc. by the moderation menu.

  • Hey, Pilus...

I sent you a private message on here. Still haven't heard back from you though. :-) Just wanted to post a heads up here, in case you haven't checked your messages in a while. It includes some ideas for the add-on, and I'm curious to know your thoughts.

    Thanks!

The moderation frame sometimes bugs out and has an extra edit button sitting in it in the way of other buttons... that is a tad bit annoying. Otherwise though, this is a really neat addon!

Does this addon allow loading up of multiple projects? If not I highly suggest that is enabled, for many people want their own projects on whatever server.

The addon is orriginaly designed for the gryphonheart project. Therefore the whole basic of the way the new factions are added to the official blizzard factions is limited to only one project. Such change would sadly include changing much of the addon, so it will not be included in the 1.0 version of GHR.
