  • About GridUnitMenu
  •

This addon is a utility extension/plugin for Grid. The only thing it does is adding a right-click unit menu to your grid raid frames.

To make better use of this addon, I suggest using it with an addon like Clique to customize the mouse bindings.

Why this addon...?

I asked the ace community if they could build in a right click unit menu. They said "no" because mods like Clique do this anyways. Well it turned out this was just an assumption - a wrong one. Clique does not add menus it just adds a binding to them, this is completely different.
Now this addon does it. And of course you can still modify the bindings with Clique.

Set Focus

This menu item will not work, it's a default blizzard menu item, but I couldn't find a clean way to remove it from the menu.

Is this addon still being maintained at all? I ask because the new "Vote to Kick" option implemented in 3.3 doesn't appear on unit menus produced by this addon. Would love to have it added, otherwise I'm going to have to hunt for something external that'll let me kick morons in my pugs.

    Thanks for the addon. :)

I still use it myself, I was able to use the "Remove Player" item, and it worked like vote to kick, not sure if it's there if you are not the party leader

It isn't there if you're not the party leader, no. I'm also able to use the "Remove" option to initiate a vote to kick if I'm the leader, but it often happens that I'm not, in which case no "Vote to Kick" option appears.

Thanks for the quick response, by the way. :)

I'm not yet sure how to fix this, I guess I'll find something. ;)

So simple yet so important. Great work there! :)

I have just one little request: support for pet menu. You know, those functions for hunters' pets like "Dismiss", "Rename", "Abandon"...

Thank you very much, keep up the good work! :)

    New file

Check out if that annoying sound is still there...

    * Clicking sound? :)

  • I love this addon but in its current state I can't use it. I too am hearing the clicking sound (the same sound you get as if you right clicked on a frame and the menu pops-up) whenever people join a raid or summon a pet. I'm also experiencing great lag spikes in certain instances such as Wintergrasp where you have 40 people in a raid, many of which are summoning pets often. The constant clicking is annoying by itself but I'm guessing due to the sound file needing to be constantly played that is the cause of the game lag as disabling the addon gets rid of all these issues. I hope you're able to eventually fine the root of this issue because like I said it's a great mod and one I hope to use in the future.

Lovely extension ! But I also have the click sound
However, having a menu is so handy !

It's really odd, I can't figure out the clicking sound and this addon only has 20 lines or something :P

    * "X is not in your party" bug - fixed!

While curse mods look through it, you can already get it here: http://wow.curseforge.com/projects/grid-unit-menu/files/8-30100-1/

    Have fun!

I have two issues with this addon:
    - After installation of the addon I can hear "click" sound when someone joins raid and when raid pet is summoned. The same sound you can hear when you right-click on someone in Grid. Is it feature or bug?
    - The second issue is with raid pets - Grid is spamming messages " is not in raid" (or something like that). When this addon is disabled, Grid works flawlessly.

Full wording of the message that I have mentioned in the second issue is: "<petname> is not in your party"

I'm not sure about the click sound, I never heard it myself, but the ".... not in your party" message sure is annoying, though I never thought it was my own addon that generated it...

I'll have a look at it

    Small feedback:
I use an addon called Clique, which interfaces with any unit frames you've got and allows you to assign "click-binds" to cast spells on whoever you click on. For example, I click on a person in Grid, it flash heals them. If I shift-click, it Greater Heals them.

This addon interfaces poorly with Clique. If I assign a spell to bind to right-click, sometimes this addon will hijack my right-click bind to bring up the menu instead. It only happens on a fresh login, usually. But it also doesn't ALWAYS happen.

With the number of healers (among other people) who use Grid and Clique in tandem, it would be absolutely wonderful if the two authors could cooperate and fix this problem. :)Thanks for your time, and thanks for the great addon!

Ah, now I see that the previous comment was also about this. Sorry. I just skimmed the comments. >.>; But I can confirm the newest version hasn't fix this, at least.

Could you post me your clique-config?
I didn't have this problem yet but I think I'm on the right track and your config would definitely help - you should be able to find it in (WoW-Folder)/WTF/(accountname)/(servername)/(charname)/SavedVariables/Clique.lua

I've just tested it again, tried out everything but was not able to recreate your problem, so I have re-uploaded the archive (complete with new version number for wow 3.1) just to make sure it wasn't an archive error or whatever

the new file should be up shortly, try it out

  • hi, with the latest version after login or reloadui the menu is shown with a rightclick but in clique it is configured to show with shift+middleclick and rightclick is decursing. If i configure it again it works until next reloadui.

Please try the new file (30000.3 Beta) and please tell me whether it works or not. I can't test things ATM.
