Description

gBroker: Emote is a LibDataBroker (LDB) plugin that creates a simple dropdown menu for easy access to the in-game emotes. Emotes are grouped by their first letter.
gBroker: Emote also offers a list of your latest used emotes and the option to fire an emote automaticly on specific in-game events such as when player going AFK, player reaches a new level, player has low health and player is low on mana.

Requirements

You'll need a LibDataBroker display addon like Fortress or StatBlock to use this addon. Titan Panel is also an option, as it has support for LDB plugins. Personally, I choose Fortress as my LDB display, because it is magnificent :)

Known Bugs

  • The feature which captures emote output may capture the wrong output if you, or another addon, execute another emote within a second after you fire off an emote from the gBroker: Emote menu.
This will rarely happen, but may by theory happen. Please submit a ticket to this project if you have suggestions to how to solve this issue.

Are you going to do localized versions? I would like to have a german one

I do want to do some localizations for gBroker: Emote, but not in the near future (coming months), as Im just too busy with real life right now :)
I will, however, keep the addon up to date and working, hopefully. When autumn sets in, I might find more time to implement localization and other new functionality to gBroker: Emote.

  • I am quite happy with this addon but have a suggestion. There are a number of emotes that have a animation and wondering if you can highlight the emotes on the list with a color or signify in some way they have a animation. I include the wiki for the list http://www.wowwiki.com/Emotes_%28list%29 Just a thought.

This is something I've considered to do since I started working on this addon, though I think I just haven't found a reason good enough for implementing it yet. Tough, since someone(you) actually request such a feature, I will put some deeper consideration into it - and maybe it's part of next release :)

Thanks for continuing work on this addon :). Could I talk you into extending the charge auto-emote to druids also? I would love it on my bear :D

Auto-Emote CHARGE for druids casting "Feral Charge - Bear" coming up :)
Also changing the way OOM auto-emote is handled so it will not execute when a druid shapeshifts into something that does not use mana.

I've just published the 2.0b version of gBroker: Emote. I'm sorry it took so long :)
The new feature which captures emote output has one known issue which I have described in the addon description above, but I think you will find that it works quite great. I enjoy it alot :)
Thank you all for trying out this addon, and I hope you don't hesitate to give feedback on the new 2.0b release.

Any chance of making an auto emote for when you kill someone in pvp?

Sorry, I don't think I will add such an auto-emote. Were you thinking about the acheivement "Make Love, Not Warcraft" (http://thottbot.com/ach247)?

it would be very annoying... funny the very first time but then...

Very nice mod, I like the automatic emotes, but I kinda miss the option to have a description turned on/off, like in emoteFu2. My mother tongue isn't English, and some of the emotes baffle me :)

Hi vbori. Thank you for your comment.
Have I understood you correctly if I think you wish for a feature that show example output of each emote in the menu? Example: Bite (You bite [Target]. Ouch!)
This would almost certainly require me to store a table of descriptions like the one above, "hardcoded" into the addon, which is something I wish to avoid as it makes the addon less dynamic. Besides, I encourage you to try out all the unfamiliar emotes to see what they output, just as you would try out other new game content. It's all part of the game experience.
I have noted your request though, and Im thinking about making a compromise: Wouldn't it be nice if the addon "learns" the output of each emote as you try them out and let you choose to show known outputs to emotes in the menu or the tooltip? I would favor such a solution, but what do you think?

Yes, that is what I had in mind. The learning solution you've proposed seems like a nice idea though, I would like that very much.

    Heya

    I really I like it ^^

I have a request. Could you consider adding /oom and /healme to the list of automatically fired emotes( on low mana and health - respectively )?

Aslo how do I remove emotes form the list of 'last used'?

thank you for the mod ^^.

    Thanks for your feedback, Oakayam.
You came with a fine request too :) I will try to implement /oom and /healme on low mana and health in a later release.

About the "last used" list: The list is currently showing your last used emotes (up to a number of 5). When you do an emote and the list is full, the oldest of the emotes in the list is replaced with the emote you fired -unless it is already in the list.

I might consider adding a "reset last-used list" button, if that is what you were requesting.

In the menu this list is called favorites, which I see might be a bit misleading, as it is actually showing your 5 last used emotes. I might change that in next release.
