  • About GBOT [Bag Of Tricks]
  •

Greetings good people!

Updated August 7th, 2009.

Some of the things it can do are as follows:

  • Automatically sell gray quality loot
  • Automatically repair when visiting a merchant who can repair
  • Automatically open all your bags when visiting a merchant, the bank, the Guild bank, the auction house, the mail box or while trading
  • Hides the chat buttons and arrows, and activates the use of the mouse wheel to scroll in the chat windows
  • Hide the clutter and various icons and buttons from the minimap. Also activates the use of the mouse wheel to zoom
  • Decline group invitations, guild invites, charter spam, duels, etc. Can be set to allow from guild, and even to automatically accept group invitations from guild and friends!
  • Moves the chat inputbox to the top of the chatframe
  • Glue the tooltip to the mouse cursor
  • Hide the UI Error Frame (You can't do that yet, Not enough energy etc etc)
  • Abbreviate channel names
  • Prevent the chat from fading out
  • Outlined Chat
  • Save different settings for each character of course
  • Allow you to edit all of the options above

I'm open to suggestions as to what other little nifty things I can put in. Every positive and friendly response is welcome.

Regards
Goldpaw

    Hi Goldpaw.

Out of all the addons that I've tried, yours is the only one that sells all grey items, repairs, and reports back the profit/loss. I love it. Actually, it's the only part of GBoT that I even like. For some reason, all the other options completely interfere with my pMinimap and Prat addons.

I'm wondering if you can make a version where there is *just* the grey-item selling/repairing module, and the bag-opening module.

Awesome addon, been looking for a replacement to Automaton since it stopped being updated.

Could I request if some more handy automatic features be added?

Would like to see the following implemented :)

    Auto release in BG.
    Gossip skipping.

All I can think of for now :)

Could an option be added so the timestamps show the time in 12 hour format?

    Yup, most definitely.

I'll try to remember to slap that in next time I get around to messing with my addon. I can't give you precise estimate, but to mimick Blizzard, I'll say; "Soon". ;)

This has been fixed in version 1.3.2 which is awaiting approval as we speak. It should be available later today.

  • I'm having an issue with GBOT overwriting Prat. I use Prat for my chat addon but everytime I go through a portal or hearth the class colors are disabled and it returns to the default UI chat text. Any idea how to fix this?

Class colors issue solved. I removed it completely in the last version, since it's now a part of Blizzard's default UI

  • I would enjoy this addon very much if there were an opportunity to create a seperate list of items that would be sold automatically. Things like random feathers, non-mage food (as a mage, I just vendor food) Much obliged if you add this idea, and thanks for a great addon if you don't!

I'm considering this myself. A lot of white items for instance, that I wouldn't mind getting rid of automatically myself.

It does however require a little more work than simply selling items of a certain quality, so I won't be adding it in the very near future. It's on my mind, though.

Great addon, I very much like it. But...

Problems I have found this far:
    - The text on the chat window appears more or less blurry and faded when this addon is active. That applies when the chat highlighting is turned off (I don't like how it looks when it's turned on, but disabling it did not return the chat text to its previous state). I don't know how to add screenshots to this messages to explain myself. This problem is quite annoying, if minor.
    - When you "glue" the tooltips to the cursor and then uncheck the option, you have to exit the game completely and reload it before it takes the tooltips on their previous location.
    - When I press and hold shift to compare my gear, it does not work. I have the tooltip gluing option disabled. But I've found that if I press and hold shift with the cursor away from the item, and then move the cursor back to the item (with shift held all the time) it works well.

I experience none of this problems. I am almost 100% certain that you have another addon that affects the same things. And thus these addons are colliding. Since I'm not using Ace, it is no safe way to avoid things like that. Sadly WoW's script engine isn't anywhere close to being a true programming language.

i have a quick question i noticed when i installed this addon my text in my chat box turns like clear looking almsot like the opacity is down low any way i can get it back to the full color it looks ghosty ty

Well, my addon doesn't change the opacity of the text at all. The only setting connected to the look of the text, is the "Enable outlined and shadowed..." in the Chatframe options.

But that doesn't affect the color. In fact, nothing does.
