Mining Nodes not showing up on minimap, I am hovering over a node as I type this and no yellow dot is present. I removed all my addons except gathermate and still no go.

Oh crap - solution is to click to choose tracking type next to minimap. Wow...

I'm having the same issue. I redownloaded the data and reimported using overwite and merge and neither worked. I also set it to always show mining nodes. Halp!

  • I'm having same issue. but i think mine is worse. When I first installed, i had all the mining/herbalism data on my minimap, and world map. then i accidently deleted the mining database (i was just bringing my cursor over the button while moving it around, and accidently leaned on the button too hard, and "CLICK", "Remove Database") And then mining info disappeared. I re-imported, no go. i removed/reinstalled gathermate, no go. I thought it was buried in my folder somewhere, so i removed/reinstalled WoW, as a whole. no go. I EVEN SPENT 12HRS FORMATTING AND REINSTALLING VISTA, In case it was a registry key issue, no fix. ALL data is still missing. no idea what to do. any suggestions?

This is a great addon, and has made hunting crap down so much easier.

One comment you may want to fix: Tiger Lily is a 375 Herb gather; you've got it listed as 400.

Would be nice if you could make the Gas Cloud icons on the minimap like the ones for Herbing and Mining, so you actually could see the yellow dot.

  • it would be nice if it was possible to make minimap icons non-interactive.

It is possible to stop the minimap icons from poping up the tool tip..
It is one of the settings..

If that is what you mean?

So just uncheck Minimap Icon Tooltip under General.

  • One question it's not hard to answer so please everyone read and attempt to answer.

Is GatherMate supposed to show a different icon for something if it is usable? For example, I mine a Small Thorium Vein, there is now a red circle there, and an icon on my map. Good. However, it's always just a red circle. It's never anything different, if the vein is gone, or there again to mine again. Is this supposed to be happening?

    Thanks.

It will always be a red circle for whatever your mining..
It is based on the node type as in..
    Mineral Veins are Red
    Herb Bushes are Green
    Fishing Circles are Yellow..
This is FOR the Tracking Circle Not the Node Icons which each have their own color based on what might be there..
FYI I set my Tracking Distance to 80 (to help with not missing anything due to lag)
In other words I have to get to within 80 yards(or whatever it is) before my Node icon switches to the Tracking Circle..

Also helps to have a Hud (Heads up Display) to show the Node icons)
    Gatherhud is not too bad
    http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/gather-hud.aspx
    and is for Gathermate..

I use the HUD in Sexymap

  • I was just wondering if there's any way it can tell you if that specific spot has been mined recently (Un-Minable) or not (Mineable). If not, I find the AddOn pointless to me specifically, as finding the nodes has never been a problem for me, so I would only see a use in this if it did what I am asking. If not, I don't know why I have it.

On a different note, that data I added is AWFUL. I sincerely do NOT believe Un 'Goro Crater has 32487230947320 different nodes in total. I've been to some of those places many times, never seen a trillionth of the nodes listed there.

What your asking is not possible.. Things like the Gathermate are only to show you where Nodes have been found in the past.. If you import data you will get the nodes that are in the Wowdb sites list..

If you do a database cleanup it will clean up nodes that are close together..

To tell if a Node has been mined recently you will notice there is no tracking Dot at that location.. To see if a Node is Mine-able you will notice a yellow tracking Dot in the red circle....

That is how it works for everyone there are no shortcuts.
You run around to where Nodes have been to see if they are there now..

If knowing where nodes are normally located do not help you then the Addon is not for you...

I am having some issues when detecting Gas clouds.. The icon on the mini map showing where possible gas clouds are is covering over the yellow dot when there IS a cloud there.. This makes it very difficult to detect if there is a gas cloud at that location.. With Mining nodes I get my little red hollow circle filled with yellow dot..
Is this normal function for Gas clouds or should I be getting the hollow circle when I get to within the set distance?
