FriendsShare Resurrection is an AddOn that lets you keep the same friends list across characters, on a per server basis.

If you add or remove someone from your friends list and relog to an alt, that person will be added/removed from the alts friends list as well. Also, any entries on that alts list which isn't in the global list, will be added to the other characters whenever you log them in.

Basically, you never have to manually rebuild your friends list when creating alts, or worry about keeping them current on all your alts.

This all works seamlessly without any user intervention.

As an additional plus, if Blizzard decides to clean out the friends list, this Addon will automatically rebuild your friend list. This clean out happens sometimes during server maintenance. :-)

Known issue: If you try to add someone to your friends list and the server won't let you do it (say, if a Horde char tries to add an Alliance char to the list, or you misspell the name), that entry will still end up on the global list, and so you'll get the error message you got trying to add it, every time you log on. So, if this happens to you, do '/friendsshare rebuild' and the global list will be rebuilt from that char's list, and all invalid entries discarded.

This Addon was written originally by Oystein, all credit belongs to him.

i keep getting friendshare trying to add a bunch of players to the ignore list followed by "you can't ignore any more players", but my ignore list only had 5 people on it. I also thought bliz upped the ignore cap to 50 in patch 3.3. Is it possible something is amiss? Anyone else having this problem?

The problem I have with Friendshare, is that it periodically tries to do this, flooding my party-chat with messages when I'm in the middle of an instance. I've uninstalled friendshare as a result, even if it's blizzard's fault.

I recommend changing friendshare so it does not attempt to do anything when you are in a party/raid.

Blizzard broke something. I can't anybody to my ignore list and it doesn't matter if the add-on is loaded or not. There are more of these reports about that on the Blizzard forum.

I do /friendsshare rebuild and everything, and this one player whos obviously alliance with me keeps getting removed everytime I relog. How do I fix it?

If the player is not in your friend list (after it was removed), add it with the normal "add player" button of wow. This adds the player and removed it from the "to be removed" list of FriendsShare.

If that doesn't help, disable FriendsShare and login again to see if another add-on is removing this player. If that's not the case, logout and enable FriendsShare again. Then quit WoW and delete the following two files

    WTF\Account\YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME\SavedVariables\FriendsShare.lua

    and

    WTF\Account\YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME\SavedVariables\FriendsShare.lua.bak

All the data in this file is relearned when you login to WoW again.

    If that doesn't fix it...

Does your frinend have a stupid name? Like "unknown" or "nil"? Or is it a name with some special characters? Maybe Cyrillic? I thought that should but I have no way to test that. :-)

I'm getting spammed with "FriendShare Resurrection: friends list not ready, will try again later."
And I mean spammed, it's posting the message every 20 seconds

How about you just remove that stupid debug message, since it serves no useful purpose? :p

That was the first thing I tried before posting. Unfortunately it did not help.

Found a new bug - I added someone to friends on one character, and before I switched to another one (rarely used alt), he either transferred or changed his name, as I'm now getting spammed with "Player not found." messages - you REALLY need some error handling on this update loop to STOP spamming every 5 seconds with the same god damned error.

It's not an update "loop". It's the WoW client going nuts if you try to add a moved/renamed character. Try disabling the add-on and add a freshly no longer existing/renamed char and you will see the same error message SPAM. Unfortunately.

Why isn't version 13 here? Leaving it on google code prevents the curse updater from getting it :)

Also, why does version 13 still have the continuous spam message if the friends list won't load? It floods the default chat frame forever on logins where there's a friends list glitch on wow's end.

How do I know which toon a given friend came from? I was hoping that it would modify the friends list display to indicate that, or at least include it in the user comment. The way it is, I don't know if I need to explain to someone which toon of mine they know.

Kring- Thank you for keeping FriendsShare updated. It's a really valuable addition to my UI and saves me quite a bit of time and effort.

Please consider posting updates to this page, and perhaps creating a project at wowinterface.com as well. I know it can be a hassle to update multiple sites when your have a new release, but I doubt that many WoW players frequent GoogleCode and those who check their curse.com or wowinterface.com "favorites" lists to find out when an addon has been updated won't be alerted to new files posted only on GoogleCode.

Thanks again for this great mod!

I keep getting the message FriendsShare Resurrection: friends list not ready, will try again later. Addon was working fine until the last patch, and is still working for my husband. uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help.

There's a bug in friend lists that they sometimes don't load properly, so list sync addons can't do anything on those logins - sometimes if you log out/in again it'll fix it.

Personally, I think that error message should be removed, because it spams it every few seconds, making the main chat window absolutely useless.
