  • About Friend & Ignore Share
  •
Features:
  • Creates a global friends list, boot strapped by the current friends of each alt you log in as.
  • Adds friends that are in the global friends list who are not friends of the currently logged on alt.
  • Adding a new friend adds it to the global list which will transfer it to your other alts as you log them in.
  • Removing a friend removes it from the global list and will remove it from your alts as you log them in.
  • Tracks your alts and adds them to the global list of friends so that your alts show up as friends (for name completion at the mailbox). Can be turned off with '/fs alts off'.
  • The global friends list is partitioned by server and faction (Horde or Alliance). PvE servers allow you to have alts in both factions, but they can't be friends.
  • /friendshare reset - Resets the global friend list to the current alts friend list. Useful if the global list gets corrupt (never seen that happen).
  • /fs import - imports the global friends list (again). Usefull if some global friends were not imported b/c you had too many friends already.
  • Syncronizes your ignore lists across your alts as well. Players have to be online to be ignored so you may get 'player not found' messages at login when trying to syncronize ignores.
  • /is import - imports the global ignore list (again). Useful if someone you have on your global ignore list logs in.

To get started just log in each of your alts. From that point on, all your alts will share a global friends list and a global ignore list.

This MOD should work fine reguardless of the WoW client language; however, it does have one or two messages that could be localized.

WoW has a hard coded friend limit. This has nothing to do with FriendShare. If you are hitting this limit, then you will probably want to turn off adding your alts as friends. This will free up friend slots for your real friends.

    /fs alts off

This is an awesome addon. Something I'm amazed isnt in the actual game

However like dragunknight92 suggested - I think its pretty vital to get the notes copied if poss please! :))

  • A few improvemnt ideas:
Copy the notes line associated with each friend.
    eg. Hacknslash - Kyle
    Bobjoe - 450 Jewelcrafter

Create a notes line next to ignored players similar to the frineds notes in the default UI, and copy the notes to each ignored player as suggested with the friends notes.

Make it possable to shared between two accounts on the same computer in a similar fashion to altholic.

  • I am getting weird behavior with this addon and I think its because of a conflict with another addon I value. Its CorpseInfoRedux on this site at http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/cRrpseinforedux.aspx. What happens is when I mouse over a corpse FriendShare tries to add the name to the friends list and sometimes succeeds. And it also spams the chat several times even when there isn't any corpse. Also I noticed that sometimes it would pop up a name from my friends list at random like if I had shift+clicked a name in chat.

Can you look into this and see what can be done? I am posting on the CorpseInfoRedux page too and maybe the authors can work something out.

  • I play on multiple computers, and occasionally I'll have ignored a player on one character on one system, and on another character on another system. When I then try to play these characters on the opposite systems, I am forever inundated with "Xxxxx is already being ignored." because the appropriate flag isn't being set within the addon to register the event. Could this be looked at?

  • Great news: you can now /ignore people who are offline!

I switched to AuldLangSyne few weeks ago because this addon wasn't updated a long time and the errors started to stack up. It does pretty much the same, plus quite a bit more, including removing ignores that no longer exist. You can check it out on wowinterface or wowace.

Thanks Vimrasha for this addon, i had used it for a very long time, but since it appears to be dead it's time to move on...

Is there any chance you can add a check that removes names from the global list when the player is not found. Every time I log in, I get about 20 "Player not found" messages. . . likely from deleted toons I ignored for spamming. There is no way to know which of my 5 chars I listed this one on, and it doesn't tell me what the name is anyhow to know which to remove. It would be great if this mod would quit looking for them. . .

I found the issue for the BC patch, change these lines:

     "for index,value in friendsShareList[realmName] do"

    to

     "for index,value in pairs(friendsShareList[realmName]) do"

    and

" for index, value in localFriends do"

    to

     "for index,value in pairs(localFriends) do"

Creates an huse amount of spam by trying to add all your friends to your friends list (even if they are already on it) every single time you log on.

The only time I'm "spammed" by the mod is when it tries to ignore those goldfarming spammers, I've ignored on one char, as they are usually deleted within a few hours by the adverticer.

  • It would be very nice if this were cross-posted on curse-gaming, so that I could find out when updates are available. Still, great idea, and somehow no one else is doing it!

If you search curse-gaming for mods using 'ignore' as the only parameter, there are several interesting friend/ignore features that you may wish to incorporate into your mod - namely, friend/ignore list limit removal, emote/speech/shout/channel blocking, color coded friend status, and so forth.

  • Saw the updated project on curseforge. Glad this is being continued, at least updated to 2.4.2. Thank you!
