  • About FlightMap
  •

FlightMap is all about the flights you take in the World of Warcraft. It draws lines on the continent maps, showing you visually where you can fly from each zone as you mouse over them, as well as showing a window listing all the available destinations, their costs and their flight durations. On the zone level map, flight masters appear as small boot icons, allowing you to see where they are. During flights, a castbar-alike progress bar will show you how long is left on your current journey.

Use /fmap or /flightmap to bring up the options window, or use the myAddons support.

The timer bar is movable if you hold down SHIFT and drag it.

Many thanks to Thorarin (aka Marcel Veldhuizen) who not only reported bugs, but also reported their fixes, and who supplied the Alliance default data. Thanks also to Simon, who has helped immensely with the German translations. And of course, thanks to everyone who downloaded betas, put up with bugs and helped me fix them!

BETA NOTES: 1.9-3beta147 adds two new "/fmap" subcommands: "/fmap lock" to prevent FlightMap from learning any more flight times, and "/fmap open" to open up the flight map window. It also should correctly remove Valor's Rest for translated versions.

1.10-1beta151 updates for the 1.10 patch. See below for 1.10-1 notes. This is flagged BETA because the test servers went down two hours earlier than the live servers, which was two hours earlier than I expected. It *should* work -- but it might not.

Known bugs for 3.2

  • The timer window may be too small to fit large texts.
  • Timing may get messed up when going to a battleground in mid-flight and then resuming the flight afterwards.

  • hi, i used this addon when it still was called Dhask's flightmap, back then one didnt have to configure stuff to get all features to work.

I'm interested in to be able to see LVL suggestions feature at the diff zones on worldmap / flightmap and want lines between the diff flightmasters on flightmap, how do i activate that?

I don't know how to configure stuff at all in flightmap, how to enable or disable the world map line drawing, the flight timer
window, the flight master icons on the world map, and the flight
selection window enhancements. I tried /fmap help but it doesnt do anything else than show the same as /fmap does, which is:

    help - Show this text
open - open flight map window
reset - reset timer bar position.

Also does all features this addon provide work both as ally and horde?

Hello, great addon. I have a question though, there is 2 flight timer bars. The one included with FlightMap and it looks like the default timer. Is there anyway to get rid of the default flight timer? When I move your timer, the default is still there in the center of the screen. I do not want 2 flight timers. Is your addon supposed to get rid of the default? Or just sit over top of it?

I would like to keep your timer and get rid of the default one. I am wondering if your addon does replace the default timer bar and I have another addon that is also adding its own flight timer. I do not have any flight addons installed except for yours. I have looked through some of my addons options and saw nothing about a flight timer. Thanks in advance.

this does replace the blizzard one or uses it not sure which. If you are getting a second bar there are other mods that provide flight timer bars which you may have installed. Questhelper is one of them which puts it smack dab in the middle of the screen. Turn it off with /qh ftime

Moldavia! You rock man, that did the trick! Thank you for your reply and kindness, it is hard to find these days. So much respect & take care.

  • FlightMap and Mapster don't get along very well. When world map is displayed and you mouse over a zone the info that is supposed to be shown (zone info, all the available known flight paths, flight times etc.) is displayed a bit messy with regards to transparency et al. An option to disable that info would be a nice workaround and a handy feature as well...
Other than that I don't seem to have any other problems. Thanks for the only addon of its kind that is still working and maintaned (Enhanced FlightMap although technically there it is semi-dead)

slash command does not open options I have to get to them manually. also is there anyway to add this to titan panel support for a button to open/close the map? typing it in all the time is annoying and on a notebook i'm running out of keys to bind. I agree with Kurosau your icons are huge and need to be toned down a little lol. Otherwise great mod.

    I've got two questions.

First, is there a way to get all of the flight timing data without actually doing the flights myself? Most of the single step flights are timed, but any multi-step flights aren't.

Second, I'm still having the problem where the flightmap icons show up superimposed over the cartographer dungeong maps. Anyone know how to fix that?

  • Just installed this addon. Since enhanced flightpath is not really working. Needed to have the flight paths marked again on my map.
Any way or chance someone has the data base for the flight paths for the alliance. I would really love not to have to go find them all and fly to them all over again to get them to show up on the map again. Thanks in advance.

Check "Flight master icons" and "Show unknown flights".

Flight time from Menethil Harbor to Nethergarde Keep is a lot more than 2 minutes I think you'll find :P

    I think it's closer to 6.

Also if you want a nice styled flight timer try eCastingBar and just use the Mirror Bar. Is lovely :)

Hi, can you add unctions for disable/enable, transparency, texture settings ?

  • For those that are annoyed with the too small timer box, here's a fix that works just fine for me:
FlightMapTimes.xml: Change all the numbers 195 to 295
FlightMapTimes.xml: Change all the numbers 185 to 285
FlightMapTimes.xml: Change all the numbers 256 to 390
FlightMapTimes.lua: Change all the numbers 195 to 295

That give a nice wide box with room for all destinations :)

Thanks for your suggestion! If it works out ok, I'll include it in the next release.

  • The addon still got that annoying bug where it blocks you from accepting certain dialogs.
    Example of those dialogs:
    - Accepting to pay 1000g for dualspec
    - Accepting to pay 1g for alcohol (quest in Howling Fjord)
    - Accepting that you chose to help either Oracle or Frenzyheart (new orphan quest in Dalaran).

  • I had the exact same, as soon as I disabled FlightMap it worked just fine.
It also kept me from changing from potion master to elixir master.

I've personally had no problem with either buying dual spec or the orphan quest. Please check which other addon might be causing this together with Flightmap. I simply cannot fix that which I cannot reproduce...

  • All I can say is, that as soon as I disable FlightMap, the problem goes away.
There are no errors, so it's hard to see exactly what is causing it.
Clicking on the Accept button on the dialogs simply just doesn't work.

You could of course try to disable other addons to see which one is in conflict with flightmap. If I cannot reproduce the problem, how am I supposed to fix it?

  • I got about 60 addons, so there's no way I can test what combinations of the other addons that conflict with Flightmap.
But it's not that big a deal. I just have to live with the fact, that I must temporarily disable Flightmap when one of these dialogs show up.
